  1. Is this an early 70's Tar Back Gibson Bass Pickup|? Hi I need help in identifying this old bass pickup, it has a lot of characteristics that makes me think it is a Gibson Tar Back from the early 70's a la Bill Lawrence period. I know that there is loads of information on the web regarding the six string versions but I cannot find anything regarding bass pickups, I don't even know if they did Tar Back Bass pickups. The construction is very similar to the early Gibson EB bass pickups, it has two magnets either side of a central rail that has been re-drilled and adapted from a six string pickup rail. I have attached some photos of the pickup alongside a tape measure, the pole centers are 50 mm E to G and the cover looks like its been chromed. Please help me identify it, I have never ever seen one like it although a UK bass builder called Goodfellow used resin filled bass pickups in the 80's and 90's I don't think it is his, his were moulded in resin moulds with wood grained finish.
  2. I need some help identifying this bass tail piece, it has been lying about in a box for a very long time, it could even be 70-80's. It is really well made with a chrome finish, there are no identification marks on it. It is right handed with the holes graded in size to suit the strings.
  3. Excuse me I am a new member and I am on the scrounge. I have seen a few designs for EQ systems on the forum from the various members. I have an Ibanez Studio ST300 and it is missing the 2 band EQ board. Can anyone help me acquire a replacement or make me one. I would even be happy with a schematic that I could have made up here in Edinburgh. I know nothing about electronics I am a Civil Engineer! I am however a dab hand with a soldering iron! Here are some photos of the specific part, I have the two center indented treble and bass pots and I have a wiring diagram for the various switches to put it all back to original all I need is a replacement board, a design or an alternative type 2 band EQ. I have included pictures of the unit, the unit insitu, the wiring of the various components, which has one volume, two center indent treble and bass pots, tow micro switches that control the individual pickups, phase, single and out of phase and an EQ off/on switch. Please please help!!!!
