Hello BassChat Chaps! I'm an ex-pro and I currently manage/engineer my son's covers band. The play mainly 60's stuff an he shares bass duties with another guitar player and they swap the P-Bass a couple of times in the set. We are always looking at ways to cut down on the amount of gear we lug and (if possible) upgrade the sound. We currently put the P-Bass thru a Laney 1x15 combo and DI to the desk. The proposal is that we do away with the combo and have a better monitor for the drummer (a spare Mackie Thump 15A) and go thru some sort of pedal/amp sim/DI into the desk. Given that we may connect 2 P-Basses (one for both guitarists to alternate) and that would ideally like to power the new unit with phantom power.....this would seem to be the ideal: http://www.dv247.com/studio-equipment/tech21-sansamp-vt-bass-deluxe--70968 So, the obvious questions are, what would be your recommendations? (I've looked on DI forum), what do you think of the item? (It's SansAmp, so I'm assuming it's pretty high quality)...any reservations about what we are planning?
