I have the 4 and 5 string versions of the American Professional II Fender Jazz, I have to say there isn't a HUGE amount of difference in how they sound if you disregard the Low B, unless you're slapping, at which point the 4 string comes to life.

I haven't been on much other than lurking over the last few months, so wanted to drop by and say HEY and 'Merry Christmas!' to everyone.
I've not long finished by first term at Uni (For those who don't know I'm doing the BA Hons in Music with Bass at ACM in Birmingham) and it's been a wild ride with a steep learning curve, but I'm LOVING it. I've already learnt so much and I've barely even started. I've even started listening to/playing JAZZ. What the hell...
I hope you're all happy, healthy, COVID free and have a wonderful Christmas/New year

I recorded/made this today and it turned into a memorial song for my best friend who we lost to Cancer a few years ago.
It's my first time sharing something on here and I'm terrified LOL

I played in a club band with a Black Country vocalist. She used to introduce it as "Youm sex am on foyir".
Being from literally next door to the black country this does not surprise me.

You must get served mighty quick in your local!
We put all the punters off coming so it's a short queue

The good news is from a bass POV, you can learn a couple while the kettle boils...if they'd paid Guigsy by the note, he'd still be on the dole...
I already said when we play highway to hell I'm wandering off to the bar until the chorus. Might do the same with Wonderwall

Anyone chucking anything out of a pram about doing Oasis covers is missing out on happy punters and big singalongs; like it or not, they're the Beatles for at least a couple of newer generations...
Just for clarity, I wasn't being serious about threatening to quit. I play what they tell me to play

Speaking of Oasis, our covers band have just told me that we're going to be doing an acoustic version of 'wonderwall'.
I've threatened to quit or just refuse to play it,

Thankyou for any info.
I definitely need to follow this thread because I've just started tinkering with a TC electronics ditto looper

haha sorry guys, work has kept me busy and I pretty much crashed over the weekend. 🤣 It went really well. Considering we'd only had 5 practices and months in lockdown with my learning the songs from Spotify playlists I'm really happy with how it went. I even managed to sing backing without having a total mental breakdown 🤣
It wasn't perfect, but it was never going to be. The venue wasn't packed, with maybe 20 people there, so in my opinion it was the perfect first gig with a new band. No pressure but lots of fun.
