Ok now my proper response. I like the Gibson style body, not too sure if that's an original design or a copy from another brand tbh. The Fender P's J's are too "common" for me but if I were to get one, the sunburst colours would be cool. I only picked up the bass last November, but fancy a new style to my Crafter Cruiser which I kinda got paid too much for (£150 with lead and soft case, no amp). I recently bought a new "vintage" bass in the form of an Antoria EB3 copy, short scale with a totally weird bridge (pic will come later). Probably paid too much for that too :/ Call me mental, but I'm still after another bass. While I'm not MADE of money, after I got the EB3 I still wasn't satisfied with my purchase.

Cor blimey you guys are the ultimate bass guitar aficionados! I didn't get an email about replies and just checked my post now. Two pages long and going! I'll check them out before I say anything stupid. I feel a little underdressed in my bass guitar knowledge....

I've been feeling the need to buy a retro looking bass cuz they just look so damn cool! I was looking at the Hagstroms and fell in love, but obviously an original is like finding gold dust. I know some of the Japanese brands used to make replicas until they started their own models, so would that mean I'm doomed to scour ebay only?
