  1. I hope so. I've a gig tonight. It was a very difficult decision. But I feel that I have done the righteous and awesome thang...........
  2. When it comes I will try and figure out how to attach a pic . It's up to a three month wait
  3. Just the pick guard and metal knobs.
  4. HAHA, amp next............ ................. .................. only joking.
  5. Yup, 1024x in vintage white. On order. BOOM.
  6. Having A/B ed them over and over again to the best of my ability. And although the ibanez is a powerful super sleek tonal monster. The BB just has something that I like, and I can't put my finger on it. If in the future I want an active chameleon God of a bass, I will look no further than the ibanez. It is truly fantastic. But this time it was close but no cigar .................
  7. Well, it's D day. Off to the big bad city (Leeds). Taking another pair of ears as well.
  8. Having re read this thread. It would seem more people are leaning towards the ibanez than the mighty yamaha. Interesting. Is it a forum of shredders??
  9. I'll let you know when I have visited the shop in the big bad city again. But, I have had one nice chap assure me that once turned up the ibby is all about quality sound. So it's down to a test. I have played fenders they just don't seem to be for me.
  10. Ha ha ha . That's my whole point. Having settled for the yam, I picked up my ibanez and I'd forgotten how good it felt and sounded. Therefore leading me to thinking that I need to try the 1200 again. Because they feel great( like my 300) but with steroids. So , I need to plug em both in again and turn them UP!!!!!
  11. Ibanez or yamaha, ibanez or yamaha, ibanez or yamaha, ibanez or yamaha, ibanez or yamaha, ibanez or yamaha, ibanez or yamaha???????????????? Definitely one of life's more concerning questions!!
  12. Yeah, they are both great . Both different animals. I'm gonna have to go back to the big bad city to play them both again. It's a really difficult decision.
  13. Well that's no help at all. Cheers
  14. Good call, having just gigged my ibanez sr 300, I'm leaning back towards the yamaha. There's more character. Although it is fantastic, the ibanez is very neutral.
  15. Yup, gonna have to try them both again down the shop. I just recall although the SR feeling great I had to ramp the eq to get a tone I liked. But that was at a low volume. Maybe through a gig rig it'll be equally huge?!
  16. No, I'm fine with it. It just that having just picked up my 300, it reminded me how very easy to play and comfortable it is.
  17. Cool, I have played it. I also own a BBN 4 and a BBN 5. It's the comfort thing that is chipping away at me. My ibanez is so easy to play, but like I said, it's the tone of the new BB. I may have to go try the 1200 again. See if I missed out on something.
  18. Ha ha, thanks. I have an SR 300 and it is so comfortable, but the 1200 just doesn't have that just been punched in the face sound that the yamaha has in abundance. But maybe you use your amp for that??
  19. I'm having a dilemma, I really cannot decide between an ibanez sr 1200 or a yamaha BB 1024x. They both have there own bonus points. The yamaha has that huge passive tone, but the ibanez has the comfort and the adaptability of tone. I have played both in the shop and was leaning towards the yamaha because of it's huge bottom end and simplicity, but now I am having second thoughts that I might miss a trick with the ibanez. Your thoughts and advice will be greatly appreciated. Andy
