…but Old Spice still sells...

Lol. Reminds me of my Dad.

I recently came across some Old Spice car air fresheners. I had to take it to work, and put it in my work van, because my girlfriend can’t stand it!

I like it, and I do get compliments on how nice my van smells!

2. Keep what you really want, and get rid of the rest—but only sell if you get your price.

It’s fun to pick up new gear if you decide to get back into doing gigs at some point. So if your current gear is kind of ‘meh’, then unload it.

Line 6 Amp and Cab sims plus Yamaha studio monitor: decent sound at any volume

The Line 6 tho has the most frustrating user interface I've ever met, so it just sits on one setting the entire time. As does my bass, tbh.

As they almost always do…

Almost every guitar and bass player who ever bought any one of the programmable multieffects units goes crazy programming and tweaking in the beginning—best invention in the universe—then the reality that more time is spent fiddling with it than actually playing through it, finally sets in. It then either becomes a one setting wonder, or an object up for sale.

4. I use mine mainly for silent practice at home, and I think it sounds fantastic. I love the fact that I can just plug in my bass and my iPod, slap on the headphones, and I’m off and running.

If I want some dirt when I’m recording, this is my go to. It just sounds great.

Oddly enough, I’ve never used it on stage, but then I’m not a fan of using pedals live anymore, aside from my Turbo tuner and Demeter compressor, which is always on and both sit on the floor right in front of my amp.

For the Motorcycle, a good nights sleep, n loud gigs, (listening, Don't play gigs...) i use Howard Leight foams. I use the 'greens' rather than the 'rubard n custard' as the greens are slightly smaller and more comfy for smaller ear canals.

Been using em for about 20 years... not the same pair... that would be gross!

I use Howard Leight too. I absolutely love them for both comfort and protection.

I went through all of the custom molds, different shapes of latex, rubber, and foam, then one day stumbled on the Leights at work—generally the airline supplies 3m yellow foam, either barrel or taper—but I happened to be in the garage bays, and the mechanics were all using the Leights. Long story short, I tried ’em, I loved ‘em.

I use them on the motorcycle, playing music, going to concerts, and I still use them at work.

6. If I may make a suggestion, you might want to check out Gallien Krueger's MB Fusion 500. Three tubes in the preamp, has two (foot switchable) channels, it weighs about 4 pounds and fits nicely in a gig bag. And it sounds HUGE and warm—actually that's not entirely true—you can get virtually any sound you want out of this amp. It just so happens that I like big, warm, slightly gritty old school, and I get gobs of it!

I picked this amp up to use for rehearsals (I travel by subway) so I was getting a little fed up with lugging my 13 pound Mesa Boogie Walkabout head with me. I have to admit that I like the GK just as much as I like my Boogie... and that's saying a LOT!

For some reason or other I'm not able to attach any pictures here—so here's a link to the GK site:

http://www.gallien-k...roducts_mb.html (scroll down to the MB Fusion)

You should probably keep in mind that what you're hearing on the Austin City Limits clips, is the sound of his bass through a DI into a mixing board. You're not hearing his amp at all.
