That would only work if the sub has a full range output to feed the other cab(s). If not, all you would get is very low end - around 120hz and below - from both. The sub would also need level controls on the outputs, so you can balance the sub and full range cab(s).

It has two outputs for passive speakers, as I mentioned in the  post. No control over them though, or at least I did not find any setting in the digital menu.

i bought mine supposedly working off of ebay for around £250.  Turns out the seller wasn't very honest and the amp had issues in that three internal fuse holders had snapped.  I made do with soldering the fuses to the remains of the fuseholders and the amp has worked fine since.  Needs sorting properly tho really with new fuse holders/clips.  I do have it on ebay at the mo (not a plug BTW) with an more honest description that the original ad!

I reckon I will pay 100 for the fixing and arround 150 to the owner.

I had a Tubepath 5.1, i only moved it on as I wanted to try out some class D stuff. I remember at the time of buying mine, there were a lot of reviews saying that reliability was an issue, but only with the 10.1. From what I can recall, the 5.1 was actually a really nice amp.

For now I use a class d amp...Markbass Littlemark 250W. Nice for small venues and rehearsal...on a bigger stage it failed big time. Protection engaged and i played on MUTE for a minute :D

  4. Well, there is a issue...because it works with high voltage (200V power stage transistors), one might be careful with how much gain he pushes the signal in the return input of the effect loop. I burned mine, fixed it professioally and sold it. Still in good condition today. Recently had the opportunity to grab a battered Tubepath 5.1, wich I'll have to fix and pay after what is worth. So, what's the second-hand price these days?

  5. Used a M80 in live situation prtty often. Back then I was using a power amp as head for my rig (no preamp) so it was fitting perfectly, and used the DI for the console signal when needed. Sturdy and resilient, clean enough. These days I'm drooling after a Darkglass B7K Ultra, love the distortion.

  6. I have back home a Yamaha BB G5A, upgraded it with MEC active pups, sounds killer. Lots of low end and sustain. It is also kind of vintage, over 20 years.

I'm thinking to sell the new ones (Cort GB 75 & Eastcoast Jazzbass) and keep hunting for old stuff.

I remember reading the original brochure for them (a scarily long time ago) but I recall I decided against as I didnt like the headstock and the Marlin models had a cool fish inlay at the 12th fret. Here ends the nostalgia segment....

Do you have any info about the year / specs?

  8. I tested it today on a keyboard combo, and on my Vox Amplug when I got home. This animal packs a serious punch...beats a lot of the new basses on the market. And I payed 60 quids also.
