9.
Not had this long and not 100% sure whether to sell as I waited ages to get a good Rickenfaker and I'd be surprised if I see a nicer one. As a Jazz bass man I'm having issues adjusting to the body shape therefore I'm thinking of selling this beauty.

This is a 1975 (dated by Bassassasin) Japanese Rickenbacker copy by CMI. Thru neck, 2 inputs, absolutely incredible condition given the age. The bass has been set up by Tito Dalmedo of Fulwood (see recommended Luthiers thread) and has been re strung with ernie ball round wounds. It had some very dead looking flat wounds when I got it.

Possibly the most surprising thing about the bass is the light weight. It's noticably lighter than my standard Jazz bass. The sound is incredible. Really huge bassy thud, especially the neck pickup. My band are moaning at me for thinking of selling.

The bass comes with a rather odd hard case I got with it. It is basically a guitar hardcase with a hole where the top 2cm of the headstock points out. Not great, but I'll throw it in regardless.

Price is £400 collected from Preston.
hi am interested i could arrange collection would that be ok

  11.
After spending a small fortune on my DJ5 recently im just not liking it. I think its down to the wood but its got a very deep tone that i really cant get in to.
I expect ill sell it and take a huge loss but i think its for the best.

The Musicman type of bass is the one area ive never looked at and it seems very confusing. I know i do like the tone and i played a 5 string recently that felt really nice but i have no idea what it was.

So im really just looking for some ideas on whats what in this type of bass. what's a good one to go for, anything to be avoided etc.

I guess price wise im looking at what ever i can get for the Lakland or failing that around £500 if i decide to keep it.

Not bothered if its 4 or 5 string at the moment. How do the necks compare to, say a Fender P or Jazz?

    Cheers for any info.
15.
Makes no odds other than try and keep the leads as short as poss. Just need to make sure that the leads can handle the current if it's a very high output amp so running 2 leads in parallel will help with this but makes no difference to the sound.

I was buying a HiFi years ago and the guy in the shop told me the speaker leads had to be the same length within a few mm. I asked why and his reply was the delay could be heard by his trained ears! After I picked myself off the floor I asked for a calulator and did the maths for him, turned out the difference in length would have to be something like 100's of miles before he would hear any delay. He didn't believe me and I guess still thinks he can hear the delay over a few feet of near the speed of light when the sound is at the speed of sound. So, I guess if people think they can hear or see something then they can.
16.
How does the Gk/Aguilar combination sound?
hi
well all i can say is awsome, that was the comment i had from the bassist with the ram jam band and i have to say he is right, i do regret having to sell this rig as i said needs must and i have to make a choice, especially after all the years i have been playing and at last found that combination that just blows you away.

    tks
