1. Fantastic! Although there will probably be more many problems that I'll need help with, one in particular is driving me absolutely insane! I can't get a good sound from the E string! It's just coming out either really quiet or really scratchy. I've tried adjusting my bowing pressure and where I bow but can't can't get it right. Any tips would be great. I'm playing a £70 Stentor student thingy with steels btw :-)

I pcked up a Boss TU-50 from here and mounted it with a dbx compressor and a GK MB200 is a half-rack case I giot from Ebay.

One day I'm going transplant it into a 1/2 rack size aluminium flightcase.

How cute is that?!!

3. I don't have any experience with Trinity or Rockschool but you should definitely check out the Registry of Guitar Tutors bass grades (http://www.rgt.org/exams/bass-guitar.php).
They are recognized qualifications and the advanced grades (6,7 and 8) count as UCAS points towards university.
You learn scales, arpeggios, modes, bass patterns in different styles, improv, various aural skills and much more.
Plus you only have to buy three books at the most and can take any exam you like rather than them all.
It massively improved my playing no doubt!

4. Great thread here!

I'm awaiting my first Sandberg bass. California TT, black with rosewood fingerboard. Will upload pics when it arrives :-)

On another note, has anyone checked out the Sandberg Configurer on their website? http://www.configurator.sandberg-guitars.de/. Good bit of fun. Here's my creation.....If only I had the pennies..
