I have a slightly obscure gear related question, not sure if this is the right place for it but nonetheless... Recently purchased a Marcus Miller Sig 2002 model, it is "Made in Japan" as opposed to later models which have "Crafted in Japan" on the back of the neck. Although the grain of the timber body is visible through the lacquer I would describe the colour as more "honey blonde" than natural. Are the earlier versions 1998-2002 different in finish to the current model, which appear more grainy? Or has mine just faded with age? It's a great bass obviously, purchased via Andy Baxter Bass who has some fantastic gear in his emporium. cheers, Rob.
