Fair enough then. I always hate that rush just before doors open and your still sound checking. Crazy things do happen.

I also think you have this competition in the bag mate. I have only seen drummers with that expression on their face and they are strange people.

My God i hope you didn't actually have a monitor! Im very surprised your even miced up! I also like the choice of cone to mic up on the right! I normally go for the bottom one so it dont get knocked over.

They are very similar but have a slightly different frequency response. The 58 has a little boost at around 1200h i think?

Iv just got a couple of questions. Does the unit overdrive well? What do the G1, G2, Boo and Col knobs do on the front. What do all the rocker switches do on the right of the unit.

Hi Ziggy,

the case is quite light however what really adds to the weight is the actual equipment within it. Im not 100% sure about the difference in weight but im sure it wont be much different. However with the case you would get a lot more protection and extra space to rack your tuner in.

Yep i have both lids.

for sale i have a 6u Aluminum sleeved rack case. This has racked my SVT4 Pro for ages now and its looked after it great. Im only selling due to me looking to downsize to a 4u.

I think its worth buying good quality cabs which sound great over a better quality amp and average cabs.

If you have an amazing head but some really cheaply made and nasty cabs, then then you are not getting the full potential out of your amplifier. Cheaply made cabs have speakers in them which offer a lumpy frequency response which will affect your overall sound. The actual cabinet enclosure itself too will also affect you sound, this includes to wood its made out off, the size of the ports and the amount of and quality sound proofing packed into all the dead spots of the box.

Once again as stated previously, only one person can decide upon which brand to go for and that is yourself.

I have used a peavy fire bass at pretty much every rehearsal studio i have been too (probably testament to how rock solid they are) and they sound great for metal or heavier stuff. Sansamp is also a great idea.

I think i read somewhere that the bass player from Killswitch Engage has his own one and that he sets the EQ on every rented head they use on tour flat so he can adjust his tone via the Sansamp so he can get a consistent sound.
