I use VLC media player when I'm trying to work something out. You can slow tracks down but still keep the pitch the same......and it's free.

I'm not ready yet. I know the numbers but they need some polish. I've still got a couple of weeks so I 'll be ready.

I've got my first audition coming up. I've got a set list that I'm working hard on but I'm wondering what people do to psyche themselves up for it so nerves don't wreck the day.

Thanks for that. The stainless bar looks good but I'm not sure it needs to be that big. I'll play around with the idea.

On an SG bass there is only a very short distance between the string anchor point and the saddle so silk wrap strings have to be cut back otherwise the silk sits across the saddle. Also the string binding (don't know what it's really called) where the string is spiced next to the ferrule, this also goes over the saddles on my EPI EB3 which doesn't seem good although it plays OK and I can adjust the intonation. I was wondering if there are strings that are better suited to the Gibson 3 point bridge.

I'm wondering what strings people are using for their SG basses so the strings sit clean on the bridge saddles. Also, anyone using tape wounds?

Hi Everyone, I'm now to the site and playing bass. I've played guitar for years but just recently switched to bass and really enjoying it. I've got an Epi EB3 and a Laney practice amp and I'm working on 1970's covers.
