    Got it - just loosened the grubs up a little and then gently pushed the pickup down. Not sure why it was so high to begin with though... Thanks guys!

    Hi guys, Just got a new Hofner bass, the E string isn't making a sound, seems to be because of it touching the pickup.. I've included some pictures.
