Fancy a squier p bass special? Where are you located?
-
Fancy a swap for a cort gb74 in lake placid blue?
-
Potentially interested, what is it like underneath the pickguard? can it be run without one?
-
I will accept an offer of £40 on this cracking little practice amp
-
I have recently upgraded my Amp to a new Marshall unit so my Fender Rumble 25 watt bass amp is up for sale, it is in perfect working order and does not crackle or hiss etc.

Fancy a swap for a 4 string squier P bass special in lovely metallic black? Also where are you located?
-
Do they have any part numbers stamped on them? The reason I ask is all the alnico wilkinson pickups appear to have black and yellow wires in the adverts. Just want to be sure I know what I am buying as they are a upgrade for my vintage jazz bass which comes with the standard wilkinson jazz pickups as standard and if they are the same then not worth it. Many thanks lucas

Very interested . Fancy a swap for a squier P bass special?
-
Are the wilkinson j bass pickups Alnico? Cheers
-
Very interested in this bass and I live in wiltshire so not too far away. is it still available?
-
Yes pressed against nut and pressed against string in nut. Truss rod is tight hence relief now correct
-
Apologies but I don't understand which questions I have not answered
-
I pushed down against the nut sideways and down and still the noise persists
-
I did take the truss rod nut out and inspect it and oil slightly and then put back together as I was under the impression it was probably the issue but to no avail, I swapped the E string for a spare and if I am honest it felt like the noise was reduced marginally but still there to some degree.
-
The relief has been set to fender specs, the intonation has been set on all 4 strings so bridge springs are all compressed to varying degrees.
-
I have swapped the tuning pegs out for my spare ones off my other P bass and still the noise is there? The noise is apparent whenever I play open E even if I press down the string into the nut, I am so perplexed right now ;(
-
I picked up the bass today after winning it on ebay last night.
Gave it a full service
set relief
set string heights
set intonation
cleaned pots and oiled them (they no longer crackle)
it is just E string when open makes a rustling noise when played open, I have checked saddle screws and all fine.. -
as above ^^ making a stange rustling noise on open E string, not sure what it could be but sounds like it is coming from tuner area, anyone have any experience of this? or a solution?
cheers Lucas -
welcome along buddy

I'll play
The Axe bass, the Pink Jaydee, Yellow BC Rich and the 6 stringers are still here...Others have gone to other pastures in exchange for new toys...

Graham is a true gent! could not ask for a better transaction plus he let me have a little noodle on his lovely 5 string J-bass through a totally inappropriate home practice amp
