Serial number would put that as a 1994. Not sure the 'cowpoke' was available in the 80s.

Lots of reviews of MV basses out there & the same 2 points keep coming up; the build quality is exceptional & they've got closer to the sound of the original than pretty much anyone else.

Hands down the best bass Lakland have made, hugely versatile. There's a reason you never see them for sale, I expect this'll be gone in hours.

Fantastic basses these, don't think because it's short scale that it's limited to 'thumpy thump, thump'. Killer slap, fingerstyle funk & grinding rock are all in there. It also has the best passive tone control I've used, doesn't add any mids or bottom end woolliness as you dial it down, just takes the 'zing' out of the tone but keeps everything tight & defined. Love mine, there's no gig it couldn't handle.

These are fantastic basses, I never understood why they didn't take off. Undeniably Fender, but with some obvious G&L & Stingray on tap when needed. Fender must wonder why they bother sometimes.

I am the former owner of this bass & can confirm I bought it direct from Neil. It is awesome in every possible respect, by far the most regretful sale of my life. If I had the money I'd take it back today.

God I wish Ned would get the rights back & start building these again. They sound like nothing else; phenomenal sustain, depth & clarity.

So Kay managed to get a copy to the market 7 years before the original? My first bass was one of these, bought new in Cleveland Music on 3 July 1982 for £59. -
I own the SR1400 which is the same instrument but with ash facings, the build quality is great, the neck is super fast & highly stable and those Nordys sound fantastic. The real surprise though is the Ibanez active EQ, I was expecting them to have saved money with this but it's an excellent EQ. Set flat there is no difference between the active & passive sound, which is always a good sign, and the range is all usable with 3 well selected mid-range frequencies to choose from. It all sounds very natural and I would say I prefer this EQ to the Aguilar OPB - which is high praise. At £800 there is nothing to touch these basses, whoever buys it will be delighted.

It's complete con, the guy is also selling an SQ series neck that looks like horseshit too.
He's sold plenty of guitars so I reckon this isn't ignorance, it's fraud.

That looks like a "boner" Jazz to me, which were made in 1989. Also known as a 'longhorn'.

I have this bridge for sale, taken from my Nate Mendel precision. It's effectively Fender's version of the BadAss II, fits basses with the five screw bridge with no alterations needed & adds a big dollop of sustain. Included are new screws & the allen key for the saddles.
