Hi, i wanted a new distortion pedal for my pedalboard as im getting very bored with my boss odb-3 and im not getting what i would like out of it. I wanted something with bags of character but not as chunky as most fuzz pedals. I mostly play funk and rock .... Any advice?????????????
If you want something a bit different, check out this baby:

I've just sold my Zvex Wooly Mammoth and Crowther Prunes and Custard on this forum to replace it with this baby. Best (and most usable in any application) distortion pedal I've ever owned. -
Would using it with a wireless add latency?
Don't know - I haven't got a wireless system - but you've got me thinking.... -
Many thanks for the review - for that price that's got to be worth a punt!
Where did you get yours from?
Sounds Live in Newcastle, but I think Dolphin and loads of other on-line stores do it for about the same price. -
Just got one.
Tracks pretty well - not as good as a Roland GK equiped bass - but fast enough to record or gig with. It's VERY easy to use, doesn't mess up your bass, is smaller than a fag packet and is quite cheap to buy (£70ish). Highly recomended! -
I have all three - the Time factor, Mod factor and the Pitch Factor. Everything they say in the blub is true plus you can save 100 of your own patches in each of them. Sound quality wise, they are simply the best (and I've owned the rest!), but for most live bass playing applications, certainly using cabs with no tweeter or HF horn, they are probably over specified. Everything from very usable sounds to insane madness is possible, easily programable via all the knobs.
If you are on a Windows PC, I can email you the software if you like.
Thanks. PM'd -
I still love playing with this pedal, but I'm quiet unlucky with the software to edit the sounds a bit more.
I did manage to install the software and to control the presets and hear the difference realtime when I'm controlling the virtual knobs.
But I'm not able to store the presets I make on the pedal. I can create a preset. But now I want to store it under Tone 8(USER) on preset 5 for example.
Did anyone else tried this yet? I'm not sure if it's my incapableness or a bug in the software.
Cheers.
I still haven't been able to download the software yet!!!
I have registered the pedal on the Markbass site and tried four times, all unsuccessfully, to download the software. I have emailed MarkBass and they haven't replied so far. Has anyone else had this problem?
The USB/editor facility is the MAJOR reason I bought this pedal (which, by the way, tracks better than the Akai Deep Impact which I also own and the Octavius Squeezer which I recently sold bacause of the LACK of an editor) so I am looking forward to Mark Bass getting back in touch with me.... -
The Bass Multiwave Pro Distortion will resale in the US for $219 and should be available in the UK in a few weeks. I believe the UK distributors are:

I don't work for them either but I am a big fan of their pedals. They sound particularly good on bass. -
Good price for a WM. I was thinking of shifting mine and I think I would've priced it higher.
Don't tempt me - I did buy it new for a good price! -
Which version is it?

This one.
-

Er, it runs off a bog standard Boss power supply if thats what you mean. I use a Diago supply with it. -
Hi all
For sale: Zvex Woolly Mammoth fuzz unit. Original box, beads(!), bag etc. Velcro applied to underside and one tiny chip on the paint work. Apart from that, as new condition.
£160 including recorded delivery postage.
I've got more pedals than I know what to do with, so I am not interested in any trades, only money. I will accept a cheque or electronic bank transfer.
Cheers

Hi all
I'm selling my Crowther Prunes and Custard: £100 including recorded delivery post.
I don't have the original box or manual (you don't need one!) and velcro has been applied to the underside of the pedal, other than that, it's in good condition.
I've got more pedals than I know what to do with, so I am not interested in any trades, only money. I will accept a cheque or electronic bank transfer.

Yes, it's still here. I'll find out how much it'll cost to send it to Germany and get back to you as soon as I can.
Wow! Now this would be a great cheap alternative to a GK pickup for notating with! - My Notating skills aren't as great as I would like, and being able to throw down a 'technically challenging' bass line to a click and have it notated straight away would be pretty awesome.
I'm assuming it'd be easy to 'out run' the box - and thus would be better recording MIDI at say, half speed (setting the click slower) whilst recording in to a DAW?
I know it's difficult to describe, but at what BPM does the interface start losing track? for example, would I be able to lay down 16th note basslines at 160BPM with no problems? How about 32nd notes?
To be honest, as a cheat to notating, slowing down a drum track to record midi bass in, isn't really a problem - infact, I usually practice fast passages slowed down anyway - and work up to speed. Hmmm, that leads me to another idea.. it'd make a really good practice aid too.
I think I agree with Squire - the tracking and latency are good but it is prone to glitching. I've used it live, but I've always blended in some dry bass signal, which covers up a lot of "imperfections". I recorded into a Roland Fantom X midi workstation Keyboard - The midi recorded was ok, but needed a little editing/quantizing (but thats probably due to my sloppy technique!). I've not tried a computer as yet.
I think for £70ish it's definitely worth a punt, but, as I said in the original thread, it is NOT as good a Roland GK equipped Bass (I have 3 to compare it with), and don't forget, it's mono.
I'm eager to see if they bring out a polyphonic one anytime soon... TC have brought out a tuner where a guitarist strums a chord and all the individual notes are recognised.
