Unless you're after a drive pedal, in which case you're entering a minefield blindfolded xD

    Haha l know!

I was thinking of a drive pedal but was hoping someone could maybe take the blindfold off. 😊

  2. I’m looking for a pedal to give me something similar to the sound JPJ has on heartbreaker for a couple of tunes in the set.  I’m using a Sandberg Cali TM 4 a Genz Benz shuttle 9.2 & 4x10 cabs, no other effects. Budget isn’t really an issue. Recommendations please. Thanks in advance.

  3. Am I wrong in thinkin Ampeg & Mackie are both part of the same mob these days? If so it explains a lot! 1 of our srm 450's v2's packed in the other week, thermal prob. It's off to Polar now to get "fixed" under warranty. Gigs coming up thick & fast from March onwards. Lost faith in it. Never again.

There is the thermal cutout, which should obviously have cooled down, and there is an internal fuse.
You have to take the rear amp panel off (8screws) to get at it and it's located near the mains socket.
Careful you don't pull any wires off, go slowly.
Have a google but the equivalent rating is T 2.5AL250V

    Cheers for that!
Our quandary is it's still under warranty, got it thru GAK so need them to pick it up & them to send it Mackie to be fixed, meaning we're missing a speaker for 4-5 weeks (min I'd say!) do we go in screwdrivers blazin or keep the warranty. Hmmmm.

Do you think it's a fuse then? Is it easily changed?
    Is there an easy fix?

I'm afraid the v2 chinese made SRM's have a bit of a reputation for tripping out on thermal overload.

So it seems! The more I look into this the more I'm seeing the same probs.

  6. Has anyone got any experience of these speakers? We use these as a vocal pa & tonight 1 of them cut out with the thermal light coming on, left it be for a while but still not working. It wasn't working hard ( practice night ) any thoughts?
    Cheers

I've just got delivery of the GB shuttle 9.2 can't wait for rehearsals Fri night. Will post up thoughts afterwards. Feelin excited! :)

1st blast with rig tonight...... Trousers still flapping & ears bleading!
Really only took 2 or 3 songs fiddling about to find the tone I was looking for then just a wee bit of fine tuning & I was chuffed to bits.
This thing is seriously loud. I run it thru a GB focus 4x10 & a focus 2x10 & it punched thru the mix brilliantly with excellent clarity and warmth. Only one night in and I'm hooked..... Can't wait till next time & some gigs.
    Highly recommended!!

    Not really.

Putting cabs together in modular rigs has an advantage in that the cabs can be used separately on smaller gigs or combined for the larger gigs.

Also you'll get more volume and better tone not from running an amp flat out but by using more speakers.

It was my thinking to have a rig for all occasions, I'll be the sole user & I'll keep a keen eye (& ear) on the levels. I've been using a 350w combo up to now (Ampeg ba500) but it's limited on the larger stage & is getting on in years now, time for a change.

  9. I see bass direct offering deals one of which is....... A GB shuttle 9.2 + a 4X10 (600w 8ohm) + a 2X10 (300w 8ohm). now...... If you rig all this up your cabs are down to 4 ohms & the amp will be capable of pushing 900w. Assuming that in reality the master on the amp won't be past 12 o'clock is this still a mismatch or is it workable?
    Cheers, John.

  10. Hey Charic, how do you find the on board compressor? At the moment my amp has a limiter switch, nice & simple.... Just the way I like it. I can't be ar$€d with all that turn that up turn that down..... Turn it up a bit again, oh too much!.... I just want something to level out dynamics.
    Cheers, john.
