1. I'm with curiosity for this instrument. if I had a guarantee that resell it sooner or later for 1200 pounds is likely to decide
I think you've answered your question: don't buy it. Crazy, quirky, half-fretted thing. It's unlikely to suit you -and you don't like black.
2.
The get a luthier that you trust to build you exactly the bass that you want. That Sei was the bass that someone else (at the time it was made) wanted.
I'm a guitarist. converted for bass And for now, I'm looking for an instrument by trial and error method, buying and selling them, if they find that it's not the end of what I need. in this way, I collected a home here in the small collection of dozens of guitars and basses I would be very grateful if ye have helped me to estimate the real value of the instrument, and the chances for eventual resale
 3.
They've got one at the Bass gallery for £3500: http://www.thebassga...=2344&type=Bass Guitar This seems a bit extreme for a something that you're not 100% sure of - a few 5ers have sold here for between £1100-1800 but I'm not sure how relevant this is. This is a very specialist instrument, wouldn't think that there are too many of these about - I think the questions you seem to be asking are "how much are you prepared to pay", against "how much are you prepared to lose if you don't get on with it" ?? Only you know the answers to these...You might also ask "in what situations am I going to be able to use it", and "how much of a market is there going to be if I choose to sell"? This is a pretty unique tool after all. It does look like a nice bass..though I'm not too sure about these fretted/fretless boards. Good luck with whatever you choose to do.
This is not a problem with this instrument is not suited to me because I would have given it to the wall in the house where he would quietly waiting for the new owner. There is a but ... with this instrument for aesthetic reasons I do not really like it. is too black. When it comes to resale on how quickly you think the amount would be attractive enough for a feed him rather quickly to get rid of? but if it comes to what you said, "though I'm not too sure about these fretted / fretless boards" is a particular case of this case, and in general the philosophy of building hybrid bass?
