2.
Ok so I found the other thread where you'd discussed your setup a little... Just wondering how you're hooking your expression pedals into ableton? Are they midi pedals or are they standard VC pedals hooked up to some kind of controller that has a USB/midi out? I can get some half decent synthy tones out of my current pedal board but would love to bosh it thru ableton and have expression control over the ableton effects. Sorry for the third degree... It's just great to see someone getting such lovely sounds out of what appears to be a relatively simple and attainable setup so I'm eager to learn more!
hey mate...sorry for the long out...i forgot about this post...the expression pedals are hooked up to the m9, moggerfooger and ableton via the akai apc40...u can assign the exp pedals on m9 to control wave setting, octave jumps, reverb levels, cutoffs etc and on the moogerfooger its just assigned to mix for wobble so u can creep it in or whatever and then the other is assigned to mix of the cutter in ableton so the lfo will be perfectly in time to johns click... hope this explains it properly...come say hello at the bristol gig coming up...nice one

 8.
also when ur playing with submotion i noticed ur drummer as ridiculously tight as he is isn't playing to a click track, when u use modulation do u use tap tempo or is that ruckspins handy work?
hey dude...in submotion i have the rate on the moogerfooger set for quavers or triplets at 140bpm and will slightly vary it for each song but mostly tunes are around that tempo so will fit..i have an expression pedal assigned to the mix and rate so can creep the wobble in via footpedal and tommy will go with me if its slightly out but its usually fine and you can pull it off and back in again if its well out..all about messing about really and knowing when to drop it in. hope that explains it ok??and yea were playing main stage at shambala this year which will be sick...cant wait..some say hello man safeee chris www.fattybassman.com www.submotion.co.uk

Is that a Bass Murf you're (not) using?
hey man yea it is the bass murf, but it is getting used...i run it through after the line 6 with quite a bit of drive to walm the signal up and for this recording i had one the expression pedals assigned to the mix of the lfo...it was set on minim triplets and was used in the doctor p sweetshop bassline on second drop...u can hear the harmonics on the wobble as i had all the filters up full!! safeeeeeeeeeeee...

 13.
You two are awesome! well done! what do you guys think of this?? this is me on Bass with my friend on Drums, but we are expanding as a full band format with a frontman and guitarist (which we do have the guitarist but his part isnt on this clip atm) we just need a frontman who can sing aswell as produce us. http://soundcloud.com/civictiger/song7a It's just the outro to one of our songs, its only about 45 seconds long. As you can notice, were a bit more 'digital' than you, with you being pretty much all analog. My Bass is basically a MIDI Keyboard thats how we achieve this possibility. the sounds are only basic as we use simple-ish sounds to write music with, and then work on them after.
mate it sounds great...post up some more once youve finished it all...
 14. yooooooooooooo live dubstep #2 is up NOW!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVOwdGRaYiw let us know what u think... will have #3 up after glastonbury
 15.
Very cool. What are the other two expression pedals for?
they can be synced to anything on the M9 or anything in ableton but for this little demo i just used one of the pedals to change the synth sound, octave sweep and reverb if they were selected.the other was for the rate of lfo which was set so was just used for off and on... but i now have one on mix and one on rate of lfo through ableton and the other two can be used for M9 so can be assigned to anything on there second video is being recorded as we speak...will post up asap...nice one for all the wicked comments... www.fattybassman.com COMING SOON also check out my other project..... www.submotion.co.uk
 16.
What did you do to get the stuttery effect at the beginning?
the stuttery effects is the lfo within ableton...all the sounds are from the M9 and then run through ableton to get lfo which i control with footpedal...one of mix and one on rate then john can filter everything and side chain bass to bass drum aswell which sounds well authentic...hope this explains it ok?!!
