It's not normal, but depends on your playing style... If you play like Steve Harris and hit the strings hard,it could even be ok.... If you play with a pick,all string vibe goes lost,go to (+-) 4 mm!

Anyway,thanks for the nice critics and the humorous comments (my own humour is quite "British".. ...) Keep up the deep tones! edit: That Ibanez Roadstar trusscover...i had it since Ibanez sold parts (80something) and i had a love with my Roadstar, so ownering Ibanez,i just put it on my yannbass.....
