4. Hi guys, I've arranged for a bass guitar practice group to be added to the beta version of Videeback. A site where you can add videos of you playing (linked from youtube, you don't have to upload directly to the site) and then other users give time-stamped tips to help you improve. It's a closed beta at the moment so you will have to go via the link here. http://full.sc/Zkm8rI

7. Sorry I think I've found someone now (everyone pm'd me rather than replying to the post) but if that doesn't work out I'll get in touch, I've subbed to your channel anyway, it looks great! Dunno whats going on with your ads, but tbh you don't earn a lot even when it is working
8. Ha no I'm not quite in Marlowe's league yet about 1/40th of the way there
9. Hi all, I have a bass channel on YouTube and am looking for someone to join me in it's upkeep. It's not a huge channel but has more subscribers etc. than the average bass channel. This would suit someone who already has a small channel or is thinking about starting one and wants to leapfrog the slow grind of getting the subscriber numbers into the thousands. The videos I currently make are song specific lessons and a few of my own compositions using looping, though the types of videos that you would make if you joined me are up to you. YouTube provides data on each video in terms of revenue generated etc so I can guarantee that any revenue your videos make will go direct to you (and will likely be higher that if the videos were put on a new channel just because they would automatically get sent to my subscribers). The reason I'm looking for help with the channel is that with a 9-5 now I'm finding it difficult to make content more than once a week or two. So I'm looking for someone else who would be willing to make a video around once a week (or more), with a relatively decent camera and ability to record (check out the link below to see the video/sound quality I have for an idea of what I mean). I only use a line out from my effects pedal direct into the mic slot on my laptop so I'm not asking for someone with a full-on studio! If you aren't familiar with YouTube's advertising scheme, basically any video that doesn't use any copyrighted music is normally accepted for monetization (so covers that are played over the original track wont generate any money, but are still welcome on the channel, particularly alongside a lesson video that doesn't use the actual track, but then links to the cover video). Bear in mind the money we're talking about is very much pocket change until you're a big channel. I only get around £15-£30 a month but this is increasing as the channel grows as I only started it last year. So basically if your in it for the money you are likely to be disappointed, but if you just enjoy putting content out there and would like a little exposure then drop me a message. Thanks! Example Video (Looper) Example Video (Lesson)

12. My latest experiment with looping, based on the riff from 'At Your Enemies' by John Frusciante/Josh Klinghoffer
13. Thanks for the suggestions, someone on TalkBass has identified it as an SR1000-ebg. Mystery solved!
14. Can anyone identify my bass? I've had it for years and believe its an Ibanez Prestige SR1000 but I can't see another like it with a google image search. It's most similar to the SR1000-ewn but it has gold plating on the tuning pegs/bridge and doesn't have the off-centre fretboard dots that the SR1000-ewn does. Hope that the pics are accessible, been having trouble with the file uploader on here :s Thanks! 15. Welcome to the weekend all, thought I'd take a break from snooping the gear porn and leave a quick plug for my YouTube channel where I do various song-specific lessons (probably not what people are here for) and a series of compositions using looping (well, multi-tracking) which I would appreciate an opinion on, always looking to improve! The looper series is on this playlist, I hope you like it.
16. Great, I'll keep an eye out for a Yammy then, there's a great shop in town that seems to work like the tardis so i'll have a poke round in there thanks guys!
17. Well hinted sir! If it's the Rick Turner it's a little more than I would like to spend at the mo, plus I'm in between cars at the moment so anything that required me to go back to the South West might be a little difficult! Thanks for the advice though
18. Evening all, I'm thinking of getting a 5 string and likely stringing it with a High C rather than a low B for now, since most of my playing is soloey stuff for YT rather than in a band setting at the moment (boo!). I don't really want to splash out too much having just started new job and life outside of the family home in general. I've got my eye on a GSR205 which is only £240 online, but can anyone give any other suggestions/advice on what to look for in a fiver? Thanks!
19. I fight for fleadom of course! Thanks for the warm welcome, I'll post pics soon I would go for a low B if I was spending a little more on the fiver but I'm told the cheap ones tend not to get the best out of the fat notes anyway, I'll see you around the forums! PS Bert are you suggesting you aren't a person!?
20. Hi all, long time snooper first time poster here! I am a 21 year old bassist, playing casually for 7 years or so, currently without band (boo!) having recently moved to Hemel Hempstead for work. I have a YouTube channel (check it out! www.youtube.com/bassvideos3261) with a relatively modest but growing following, where I do song lessons and my own "looper" (just multi-tracking really) compositions. My gear at the moment is my trusty, and surprisingly rare, 2006 Ibanez SR1000 Prestige, and a Zoom B2.1u multi-effects pedal, as well as my apparently less trusty broken Carlsbro amp. Though given it's been around almost as long as I have I guess that's fair enough. Soon to be added to my gear will be a Fender Precision and a Ibanez GSR205, which I intend to string with the standard 4 strings and then a high C rather than a low B. Once I find a band (if anyone knows of any in Hemel then drop me a message please!) I'll acquire a new amp and be ready to go! So I guess that's me introduced, would be great to get to know some people on here and generally get over excited about bass.
21. I've been running a bass channel on youtube for a couple of months now where I do song specific bass lessons, along with some other bits and pieces. Now I've managed to get through all the requests from youtube I was wondering if anyone on here had any lessons requests? Of course general feedback is always welcome as well! The channel is at youtube.com/BassVideos3261 Cheers!
