1.
Find something useful to do during songs where the bass doesn't come in till halfway through. For example, tidy out your gig bag, write out the set list for the next gig, clear out all those old receipts from your wallet, practice the riff for the next song.

If the guitarist forgets his lead, explain that bass leads are wired with extra low impedance and aren't suitable for use with guitars.

If the guitarist starts to play a song in the wrong key, never ever attempt to transpose the bass line in your head. If you get it wrong people will assume it's your fault. The correct procedure is to stop playing, wave your arms above your head and shout "What the f*ck are you doing" as loudly as possible.
2. stoo: hmm thought that might be the case... just a lot of hassle y'see :)

Ste: ah hush my lad, and nah I moved back to leeds last saturday. You can probably keep it til October now haha!

  3. Was thinking of getting a p-bass, and whilst looking around at pickguards I noticed a distinct lack of lefty p-bass pickguards. Are the right handed ones reversible or what? *confused*

    Thanks

    Josh

  4.
I've actually got a few contemporary Arias (as opposed to the "proper" 70s & 80s JapCrap ones) and if mine are anything to go by - they're unfairly overlooked. This is an Aria STB-GT:

It might just be a piece of wood that makes noise - but it's a pretty damn :brow: one - in my opinion!
Well thats a tad schmexual... I am starting to think that SX is probably my best bet in that case. Tis a shame they dont have a massive selection in lefty- anyone got opinions of their pj variants? e.g. : http://www.rondomusic.com/spj3tsleft.html http://www.rondomusic.com/spjashlefty.html

  5. Whats the general concensus on the Aria STB-PB, the p-bass copy that Aria does? I've been thinking about havin a root for a decent p-bass copy and tarting it up and I've seen a nice lefty version of the aforementioned bass nearby for about £100. Too much, a bargain? Hilfe!

Thanks in advance guys n gals!

  6. hmm my first will have been an encore p bass copy. Got it cos it was the cheapest bass I could find in lefty format (bad idea starting in lefty, but there ye go). Though as if to appease the voodoo gods I know for a fact it was hacked to death for a design technology project in high school by one of my mates who i sold it to for £20. Oddly, no regrets though.
