  1. A bit late with this one, but bought a GZR PJ set from Jonny a couple of months ago - he was a pleasure to deal with, very easy transaction and everything exactly as described in original packaging :)

  2. A man should never be without a Charvel!

Unfortunately I have to downsize though, so I'm looking to sell only sorry. Definitely open to trades on the cat though - high maintenance, temperamental, expensive to run and delicate, so ideally looking for a vintage valve amp in return...

Yeah it's exactly the same model as Rex's from that era, except his was black IIRC? Beautifully low action, really fast neck, growly ballsy sound and 80s as hell!! So a perfect metal bass for those that way inclined! But equally versatile enough to have served me well across many genres.

I'm starting to regret this a lot...!

  3. Hi

I'm unfortunately having to downsize my collection of all things bass, so the Charvel must go :(

It's a 1986 model in blue. I would describe it as fair to good condition cosmetically, as it has a couple of marks to the body and the inevitable chip on the point of the headstock! It plays beautifully well though, and is extremely versatile tonally, with the active P/J setup. I also have it's original hard case to go with it.

I'm located near Gatwick, so if anyone is able to get to me, then I can set up an amp for you to try it out, but if not I am able to ship at a very reasonable rate!

I will upload some photos later today/tomorrow.

    Thanks

  4. No unfortunately not - I had to get rid of it, I was absolutely gutted! I've looked at a couple since as well, but they just didn't sound the same for some reason and now I'm trying to downsize... Maybe when I can justify having one just for gear porn purposes I'll get another!!

I got sent a link to a courier company by a very helpful forum member :) I can get these cabs shipped anywhere in the UK for £17.50, if that helps anyone who is wondering how to get them to the deepest depths of Cornwall or Scotland! I can also get a reduced rate on international shipping, for those who have messaged me from Europe. If you are still interested, message me again and I'll get a rate for you.

    Cheers!

    Dom

  5. Finally got round to taking some photos of these cabs! Apologies to those that have been asking for them - I ended up being away for most of July/August.

The only faults I could find with the metal grilled one are 2 small chips to the TE logo on the badge. It really is in great condition!

The cloth-fronted one also has a couple of marks to the TE badge, and about a 2 inch section of the carpet has become unglued on the rear bottom edge. It isn't torn though, so just requires re-glueing. Other than that, the only other thing I could fault about it is that the carpet is slightly bobbled and there are a couple of indentations in the carpet on the top, where an amp has sat.

  6. Ah ok thanks I'll have a look in there.

Yes, the one with the green carpet has a grille behind it, but the one without carpet was custom spec'd for grille only I believe, and I think the grille itself is a slightly different design - I'll try and get some pics up over the next couple of days so you can see what I mean!

    Thanks for your help

  7. Hi

I have 2 1248H cabs for sale - one is cloth fronted, the other has a metal grille. Will sell individually (prices below) or both for £450

The one with a metal grille I would describe as being in very good condition and comes with a foam-backed cover. It came from a very well known musician, and as such has been looked after extremely well. However, I am not trying to use this to affect the price in any way, just a reflection of its condition! £270

The cloth-fronted one I would describe as in good condition, with just a couple of marks to the carpeting, but only noticeable from close-up. £230

I am selling these as I have recently acquired a large PA, which is providing the majority of my work at the moment, so am unfortunately having to downscale by bass equipment to the bare essentials :(

I will try to get some pictures up over the next couple of days, but if anyone wants any more info on them, please contact me.

    Thanks

    Dom
