Hi clarky - pretty sure it was mr who sold you it... The original was the one given as a spare to preserve it, installed the replacement one rather than play the original into the ground! Didn't sound much different which was great, if anything a bit clearer!

That does look cool! Sounding good there too!
Yeah, permission may be important 😂 -
Haha!! Maybe he'd trade 'vibey' for 'dry' by sticking to indoor locations!! Nice looking place though for sure, I'll pass it on to the others, they're all really into it etc, I'm happy just to rock up and play wherever! 👍

Anyone local know of anywhere quite vintage in look we could use? Maybe you've done something yourself somewhere and could recommend it? Even away from he vintage look, just 'vibey' as our drummer would put it!

A friend has a son who's looking to study medicine and he's been told that preferably he will be able to play an instrument in order to demonstrate he's got the dexterity needed - basically lots of people will have the traditional academic grades needed so this is a way to help the powers that be decide who should get places. I didn't really get into music at school, only started bass at 28 out of nowhere and I still can't figure out if id been pushed early on would I have taken to it then or was I just not ready?

First two albums were fantastic, less so with The Garden I thought and onwards. Their early material and Air's better stuff is brilliant, love the chill out sound, very cool basslines too! Saw them in Glasgow after When it falls came out I think, superb

Playing a pub gig the other week and was going well until The man who can't be moved by the script - easy song but when I came in it sounded miles off, little looks between me the guitarist and the drummer - definitely me where it's going wrong - mouthing to the guitarist 'is it Bb?!' And he just shrugs like he doesn't know, I just stop playing and go down to tune while they play on thinking I must have had my tuning go miles out, back up, still sounds way off, I just chuck it and stand there while they finish the song - then the guitarist says at the end, 'sorry mate, I put the capo on the wrong fret' but all the audience thinks is 'bass player fair cocked that up!' 😒

I'm in clydebank, use shadow sound here and like them, find myself in the likes of Berkeley and like everyone says they're great, good space and gear. For first time I've got work needing done on a bass and it's with jimmy Egypt now - selling my aria sb1000 and the guy very fairly picked up on the nut needing reset and a small lacquer crack on the rear but from what I've read from lots of others I'm sure they'll do a great job! Might get a wee set up for my jazz if the sale goes through ok ;-)

This bass looks absolutely spectacular to me - that headstock alone is downright erotic!! 😍😍

Girls on film is a great bassline - I'm a fan of them, a hidden gem for the bass is Last chance on the stairway off the Rio album!

Bought a bass from Martyn last week and it was a very smooth and easy transaction - excellent bass too :-)
