cheers
For sale - G&L Tribute L2500. Wonderful bass but too many electronic options and switches for my small brain (!)

I am playing a Godin A5 as my main bass at the moment and think I would be best off backing that up with an active Freeway 5. The devil you know and all that. So the Tribute has to go - I am looking for £300 or to trade it with cash adjustment for a Freeway 5.

I will post pictures when I find the camera! In the meantime, here is (thepurpleblob) Howard's original post:

Words of Marcus Miller:
When was your built Fender Jazz bass?
I bought the bass in either late 1976 or early 1977th I would guess February '77. Whether I'm not sure the bass was manufactured in '76 or '77.
The serial number is S732742
Wonderful Fender Jazz Bass in exceptionally good condition (see pictures). Very few dings and dongs!
Chrome Covers Fender purchased new.!
Everything else, right down to the pickguard screws and finger rest, factory-original is a part of this instrument.
If interested Antesten is one with me in Slovenia of course possible,

3. Hi
there seemed to be no interest here; after 3 days, no comments, nibbles, offers, sucking of teeth, etc so I put it on the bay.
It came from there, so I thought it might as well go back there; if it came from bc I would have bumped it here for a week or 2.
But mail me with offers if you're interested, I can pull it if there are no bids.

I was rather hoping a continental cousin with more euros than sense might think it was worth 4/5's of this -

I bought this off the bay.de about 2 years ago, it cost me €550, so starting price £500

Collection from Hemel Hempstead preferred, as I am working abroad. I can persuade the Mrs to box up the case if you want to arrange a courier.

Not really looking for any trades, but I almost blubbed like a gurl when I saw a sandberg california JM5 sell for £670 on 'bay.de so could px with cash for a sandberg cali J 4 or 5 ( not picky am I? )
5. someone has bid on it on the bay, so sorry guys -- hopefully goodbye status, hello sandberg...

9. Hi
I have a bolt-on streamer, which currently has a red wax finish
http://s647.photobucket.com/albums/uu193/LundenLad/streamer/

As I dont like it in red, or really waxed either ( always feels a bit sticky ) as its a bolt-on, I could take it to pieces, strip the finish with paint-stripper, (stop crying) sand it back, then
1) stain it black and oil it
or
2) give it a coat of primer then spray it black ( better - I would prefer a shiny black)
or
3) give it a coat of primer then spray with something wilder
http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc...6_3522148_n.jpg

what wood do they use for the waxed warwicks, will it fall apart if I put paint on it?

cheers Pete

10.
w/end BUMP
I am enamoured of its woody loveliness...

plan A would mean me offloading a status series 1 and an 80's warwick streamer to come up with the readies though...
plan B, though quicker, would involve the risk of incurring great wrath and chilly household relations.. :-(

Good luck with the sale anyway!

11. for those who love them

if it wasn't for a) my boiler dying and needing replacing and :) the car freezing solid and still not sure yet if it works, I would already be the owner of one of these basses...

nice silhouette shot against the cluttered patio.. lovely bass though

15.
+1 to the potential neck issues. And don't forget to find out how much it weighs.

Having said all that, and assuming that you're satisfied with the answers you get, have you actually asked him if he'll ship abroad? Sometimes people say No in the listing, but are prepared to do it if you ask them nicely (and DON'T ask Americans to list a vintage bass as a gift worth less than $50!).

If you assume that you'll need to add 20% - 25% to the final eBay price to cover shipping & taxes, that still wouldn't be a completely outrageous price.
you could use a mail forwarding service like www.myus.com/ - I have used them for basses once or twice no problem.

16. Hi Y'all

the usual, I am comforable with my habit, I always will be one even if I never pluck another string... its just something you do...
40+ and picking up a bass again to drown out the noise of the kids... currently playing in a band in Lund, Sweden ( I am contracting here )..

Current basses, Status series 1, warwick streamer

Previous basses.. some Guild LP shaped bass with wooden bridge pieces, Aria SB1000, Musicman Sub, Ibanez SR1200, Geddy, Marcus...

cheers

19. Hi BC'ers

since I don't know what old stingrays look like, can anyone say what is this? (Ebay item 290389130663)

The neck looks real to my inexpert eye, but the body and bridge look not so convincing... any experts can tell which bits are real ?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT

not that I have any spare cash at the minute, but just curious

cheers

Pete
