Another vote for the TH500! Had mine a few months now and I'm really pleased with it. I know you said you didn't want the 500 watts but they really are good and seriously lightweight.

I've had my Squier VMJ 5 for a while now and for the money it's great value. Plenty of variety in tone available for a passive bass and the build quality is impressive (has a nice natural finish)! You could do a lot worse for the money in my opinion.

I've been playing for just over 10 years and I'm currently playing in a Rock/Indie cover band (we've got our first couple of gigs in the next few months).
