Well, I have no need for a jazz, a cab, or a Sterling!

    Haha that's a fair enough reason I suppose :D

I thought I had 500 quid, but then the road tax came up, and the MOT, and the washing machine broke.
    Now i have f*** all.

Get the cab and the jazz, 2 things are better than one. :)

Off to andertons to test things out again!

    What would I do?

    Neither.

But it doesn't matter what I'd do. Are you just buying gear for the sake of it? Do you have a specific need in mind? What gear do you have, what needs do you have, etc etc.

Why would you do neither? just curious

  4. Hi again, when I said I realised today, I was making my post a bit more interesting :P
I've been drooling over both basses for a while now, and have been and tested both, I preferred the stingray but I loved the jazz too, ahhh I just don't know!
yes I only have the one cab at the moment, and I don't really need the second if im honest, i just feel like im wasting all that extra power!mi feel like i owe it to gk to get the second cab, haha!
I don't spend my money drinking or going out all the time, I don't really spend it on anything to be honest, I'm a bit boring really :s so I like to spend my savings on basses and the such, which is why I'm looking for advice and options, I'm not buying anything because I need it or anything like that, not even actively gigging at the moment, just band practicing a few times a week.
I just like to spend my money on my interests!

Hope my rambling made a slight bit of sense.

    Jack

4003 is back from setup today - had a quick play in the workshop. I figured the bloke was going to straighten the neck a bit and adjust the bridge, but holy moly, he's also filed down the nut, taken the laquer coating off the frets, flattened them all out and given them a nice polish as well! Very impressed! I had a quick play and it's feeling/sounding very nice indeed. Will give it a solid run at practise tonight and then on tour for a week. chuffed!

f*ck all the ric hate, i love my 4003.

I only hate them cos I can't afford them ;)

  7. Ok so This morning a mate called and said he needed a new amp, so i agreed to go with him!

Off we went to andertons and obviously I left him to it and went to check out the few basses I could afford...
was pretty sold on a squier vintage modified, sounded nice, action was way too high but nothing that couldn't be sorted. I also compared it to an American made jazz bass, and I wasn't overly impressed, they felt pretty darn similar in my eyes! And fingers of course.

As I was standing around waiting for him to buy some 6 string rubbish... :P And I thought " I know, let's try out a musicman sterling " oh my god!! bad move, now I'm in love with a bass I can't afford and will do anything to get it, so let's change the thread, suggestions on how to raise £650 :D
