Well, I have no need for a jazz, a cab, or a Sterling!
Haha that's a fair enough reason I suppose

I thought I had 500 quid, but then the road tax came up, and the MOT, and the washing machine broke.
Now i have f*** all.
Get the cab and the jazz, 2 things are better than one.

Off to andertons to test things out again! -

What would I do?
Neither.
But it doesn't matter what I'd do. Are you just buying gear for the sake of it? Do you have a specific need in mind? What gear do you have, what needs do you have, etc etc.

Why would you do neither? just curious -
Hi again, when I said I realised today, I was making my post a bit more interesting
I've been drooling over both basses for a while now, and have been and tested both, I preferred the stingray but I loved the jazz too, ahhh I just don't know!
yes I only have the one cab at the moment, and I don't really need the second if im honest, i just feel like im wasting all that extra power!mi feel like i owe it to gk to get the second cab, haha!
I don't spend my money drinking or going out all the time, I don't really spend it on anything to be honest, I'm a bit boring really :s so I like to spend my savings on basses and the such, which is why I'm looking for advice and options, I'm not buying anything because I need it or anything like that, not even actively gigging at the moment, just band practicing a few times a week.
I just like to spend my money on my interests!
Hope my rambling made a slight bit of sense.

Hello all,
So I woke up this morning and realised, I have a predicament, so I came here for some advice!
I have some money to spend, about 500 of your finest English, all sounds great, but here is said predicament
Do I buy....
Squier VM jazz and a second cab for my GK MB500
Orrrrr
Sterling by musicman ray34
What would you guys do? All opinions welcome!

Nothing really round my area, I took a drive up to andertons last week, but theyre bass room is quite small, is there any dedicated shops for bass players?
-
Err, sorry I dont know the difference, the one that's around the stated price!
-
Yep! Get a squier jazz instead or buy my Fleabass
-
I have a Fleabass, and as much as I love flea, don't bother, nice looking bass, but hard to play and doesn't really have much of a sound, I imagine with a new pickup it would be ok however
-
Hi all, so im after a ray34, have about 450 to spend, what are the chances of one coming up for sale? See em much? Or alternatively anyone know of one selling?
Thanks -
I have this amp, have a bump for its awesome crunchy loudness

4003 is back from setup today - had a quick play in the workshop. I figured the bloke was going to straighten the neck a bit and adjust the bridge, but holy moly, he's also filed down the nut, taken the laquer coating off the frets, flattened them all out and given them a nice polish as well! Very impressed! I had a quick play and it's feeling/sounding very nice indeed. Will give it a solid run at practise tonight and then on tour for a week. chuffed!
f*ck all the ric hate, i love my 4003.
I only hate them cos I can't afford them -
Do I go sterling ray34 or save up and get a Stingray? That is the question
-
price drop £160
-
I get the strange feeling you like fenders...... Sunburst ones...
-
Ok so This morning a mate called and said he needed a new amp, so i agreed to go with him!
Off we went to andertons and obviously I left him to it and went to check out the few basses I could afford...
was pretty sold on a squier vintage modified, sounded nice, action was way too high but nothing that couldn't be sorted. I also compared it to an American made jazz bass, and I wasn't overly impressed, they felt pretty darn similar in my eyes! And fingers of course.
As I was standing around waiting for him to buy some 6 string rubbish... And I thought " I know, let's try out a musicman sterling " oh my god!! bad move, now I'm in love with a bass I can't afford and will do anything to get it, so let's change the thread, suggestions on how to raise £650 -
Where abouts are you based? What is the fretboard?
-
Thanks for all your help! Going to check out some of the reccomended ones today! What are these musicman subs like??
-
I have a Fleabass and an ibanez at the moment, it's mainly for light rock music I suppose!
I just prefer buying new to be honest, someone has to after all! -
Hi! So the time has come to fund a bass, £350 to spend! And obviously I want the best I can get, no restrictions really, just to add, I want to buy brand new, which I know makes it hard!!
-
Couldn't be happier with my mbe!
-
Almost 800 views! Someone make an offer! Great little amp!
-
Still here and open to offers guys, pm me I really need this gone
-
Only bought it 2 days ago! It's a gallien Krueger
-
So you think a second 115? It doesnt sound bad, it's just not got the kick im after, maybe that will go away from a second cab!
New gear!
