  1. Hello and thank you for reading this ad', I have for sale a fretless Fender Standard Jazz Bass, a black mexican model purchased from the Guitar, Amp and Keyboard shop in 2002 - serial number MZ3184408. The price offered after lots of consideration is £340.00, I would say this makes the included sale items good value! The bass has an alder body, a one piece maple neck, a rosewood fretboard - 9.5" radius and standard Jazz Bass pickups (the warranty booklet states "Upgraded Standard Jazz Bass Pickups", although I haven't actually upgraded any of the hardware). This instrument is in very good condition - there are a small number of imperfections shown in the photographs below and one small dent on the underside of the neck which didn't show on any of the pictures I took. This slight indentation is very occasionally noticeable with the left thumb whilst playing, although it is virtually insignificant - I thought I'd mention it as I want to provide an accurate idea of what I am regretfully selling. There are light score marks on the fretboard caused by the previous set of round wound strings, they don't affect the feel or playability of the bass in any way and are a common occurrence among fretless basses according to accounts I've read online (example shown in the photographs on the fretboard underneath the E and A strings). There is oxidization to the tops of the black scratch plate screws (easily replaceable). The scratch plate is an official fender product purchased from the Guitar, Amp and Keyboard shop with the bass and incidentally is oversized by a few millimeters (shown in the photographs). When received and before attaching, I coloured the very edge of the scratch plate with a black marker pen to conceal the middle white layer of plastic, this is now wearing off and the original white layer is starting to show through, especially on the top side. A very minor, cosmetic point and according to various websites is reversible. Lastly, there are a few imperfections on the tuning keys or machine heads, these seem to be dispersed evenly and in keeping with normal wear and tear. A few of these are shown in the pictures, it was difficult to get photographs although some are shown below. Along with the bass, included in the offered price, comes a Fender P/J bass deluxe gig bag, a bass guitar hard case made by Gear4Music with a set of keys (the top side of the hard case is slightly less shiny than the other sides due to exposure to the air maybe?), a VOX amplug headphone amplifier (with a new battery), a set of spare strings (the round wound set I had before they were replaced with the included D'addario chromes flat wound 45 - 100 gauge set), the allen keys required to adjust the action for the truss rod and each string on the bridge, a worn nylon with leather reinforced Levy's strap, a jim dunlop plectrum, Planet Waves string cleaner and cleaning cloth, and a selection of study and reference books for you to enjoy! It could be worth mentioning that the accessories are worth over £170.00 although I feel a bit miserly saying it. Most of these items were bought in 2010 and I have invoices for the cases, VOX amplug, flat wound strings, polishing cloth and string cleaner. This bass has really been superb throughout the time I've owned it and I hope it will become a cared for addition to a budding or experienced musician. The few marks here and there gained over the years do not detract from the general quality of the instrument, it would be irresponsible of me not to include them in this description. Collection from Sheffield would be great, if this isn't possible I could arrange a courier although they would probably be quite expensive due to the combined size and weight of all items. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me on 01142 751892 or e-mail to [email protected].
