    Funny term, funk, probably like every musical label, means a lot of different things to different people. For me, the defining funk band is The Meters, and The New Mastersounds, while allegedly a Meters-inspired band, to me don't groove like the Meters at all.

    Since a lot of my current favourite music comes from New Orleans, I've been watching Treme recently, and, honestly, everything on that sounds funky to me, Zydeco, Brass bands, the lot ... oh, with the possible exception of the Jazz that Big Chief Lambreaux would call 'that chinese sh*t'.

    That's nice ... the new price on those is kind of scary though. I waited for 2 or 3 years before picking up my Deep 5 on ebay, second hand. Very happy with what I got, no denying it was some wait though.

    It does sound a bit like it, compared to how sansamp do it (just twist the knob, watch the blinking lights). Given how often they (Source Audio) do firmware updates for some products I wonder if they'll improve that soon ? Might be worth hanging out [url="http://www.talkbass.com/threads/source-audio-sorcerers-society-s-a-s-s-part-3.1056621/page-51"]HERE[/url] and asking questions, the source audio guys (including the owner) are always there.

    From the description [url="http://www.talkbass.com/threads/my-very-own-sfx-stage-4-custom-tone-shaper.1083591/"]HERE[/url] it sounds a bit like a B3 ([sfx] variety) with an added 'sub' switch. The shape control may not do exactly the same thing as the B3's tone control, but it sounds like it's in the same ballpark.

    Ooh ! What's that little SFX pedal that seems to be labelled '4 stage' ? The graphic on it is suggestive of the EQ of a B3, but it has one too many switches for that ... all the details please :)
