1. Just read through that thread, and I think I "really" need to try out a Reidmar for sure. Small enough head to fit in a bag/case, and carrying a 112 or 210 isn't that much hassle. Really like all the EBS tones I've heard and if it sounds that good, then I think we have a weiner
2. Promethean being discontinued probably counts that out. May try out some "clones" if I can find them, but at nearly half the price there has to be a catch. Build or sound quality no doubt. Looking highly likely the MarkBass route is a very possible one, is it true you can remove the "head" from the combo's also? Strange there was no love for EBS. Is there anything particularly wrong about them? And thanks for the replies and suggestions, time to get out and try a few
3. Hello Pretty much a total Bass n00b, so come for some advice. I'm looking for a decent smallish, but loudish bass amp. Budget of around £500-600. Promethean is the obvious contender, but what are my other options? Happy to go s/h for something nice. Seen one or two Markbass and EBS combo's around that price s/h and I'm drawn that way but not sure of reliability issues with bass amps (yep, I'm mainly a thin stringer). Any advice would be most helpful, Ta
4. Still on hold, or back up for sale? Looking into small-ish but loud amps and this piqued my interest. Not 100% sure which way to go though. It's either one of these, a Promethean or a Markbass combo.
5. I'd class myself as a beginner, regarding technique and ability. Only really started playing Bass seriously about a month ago, coming from a background of 25 years guitaring, and some choir stuff as a youngster. So I would like to think I have a good ear, and a reasonable musical education. Have to say I've found this thread to be quite useful, and entertaining. I'm currently focusing on very basic grooves, with and without drums. Seems to be a good place to start. Stuff that's totally locked in with the kick on 1, and stuff where my only playing is off beat fills. Whatever works, works. Good to see the "rest" being recognised as a beat in itself. Some of my favourite tunes have me bobbing my head most on a silence! To the OP, I've always felt that we're never as good as we want to be, but almost always better than we think we are. Goes with the artistic territory apparently. Unless you're a *insert profanity here, not sure on the swearing etiquette here* oh, and @ silddx. Really liked that track you posted Nigel, not my taste as such, but very good
6.

Quite hideous. That hat has made it into the top 5 of possibles though

The quest continues...
8. So I've been trawling youtube watching a lot of bass instructionals, and one thing has struck me as vital for any good Bass player. So what I was wondering: What type of hat do I need?
9. Hello BC folks Long-time Guitard here, recently acquired a taste for the low-side of Life. Always had a bass lying around for recording, but never really did anything "musical" with them. But gettting a "proper" Bass just recently opened my eyes (Warwick Fortress1). So I decided to stop playing Bass like a guitar player and go back to square 1. Learn how to be a "Bass Player". Which, in part, led me here. I will no doubt ask a lot of n00b questions, so please bear with me on that. Especially regarding Amps and Effects! Major minefield that seems to be. Anyhoo, Hi!!!
