1. There are many OD/D pedals out there for bass but as i have found out it takes a lot of time a patience to find the right one...

I’m sure there’s a few of you out there that use these pedals and I was hoping that you could use this forum to discuss the equipment you use and any new products on the market.

The main problem that I’ve found is that while giving a nice tone many pedals fail to retain that bottom end that we require, I’ve even herd of bassists using guitar pedals to get the sound they want…..

What do you think?

2.
Thanks!

Yes; sadly, that is the case. Although there's talk that Paul Herman who used to work for Wal for many years and who is himself, an excellent guitar maker, is taking the Wal brand forward. Paul currently works in Twickenham at Charlie Chandlers Guitar Experience I believe..
It would be great to see the Wals back on the scene... id deffinatly snap one up, how much would i expect to spend on one these days.

3.
Beauty (and what constitutes porn for that matter), is in the eye of the beholder.

You ask for views - to me that is about as "porn" as Anne Widdicombe pleasuring herself. Ive always disliked Gibson style basses.

Im sure someone here will give a differing view.
No worries thanks for the comment anyway Neil, i just prefer a different sound and look to the main flock of bassists settling for the fenders.

i don’t mean anything bad by that and i know many of the worlds most professional and distinguished players use them religiously... but i’ve never been the one to settle for the industry standard.

4. This is a Jap ESP Viper Bass in see-thru black [neck-thru],
3 piece Mahogany neck and mahogany wings,
EMG Jazz in the neck and a EMG 35DC in the bridge,
GOTOH pegs and a GOTOH Willkinson bridge,
it was sent to SIMS to fit 20 front and face red L.E.D.'s and a custom mother of pearl 12th fret inlay [ESP].
i use standard gauge Elixir strings apart from the 135 i use to drop down to a low b without putting any strain on the neck.

What you think...

Thanks very much, i've always loved the sg style and the viper adds i nice jazz esq slant on the design.
Bass chat seems like a very freindly place.

This is my first post so i hope everything comes out right... anyhow any opinions on my bass would be appreciated as it is extremely hard to find any information about ESP [not ltd] viper basses on the internet.

Thanks very much,
Jonny Walker.
