Hey - I noticed in the manual that this device also has a pitch-shift effect. How well does this work, sound and track? For instance as an octave effect or to simulate BEAD tuning?

I haven't had much luck with pitch shifting on cheaper devices as it's quite a processor-intensive effect.

It actually tracks very well, I was very surprised with how well it tracks. It has a mix button too which helps a lot.

You won't have tons of control but for what it is the effects sound surprisingly good. If you are interested I could create some sound clips and send you a link.

I have a mvave (not the one listed) and it is not something I would use live in any situation-  this I probably would

I have the tiny one (Cube baby) and I did use it in a gig 😝.

It was at a fair and the main bass amp died, I had the unit with me and just connected to a DI and it sounded great.

But yeah this one is meant to be used as a flyrig.

Was really gassing for this when I first saw/read about it. But after reading the reviews and seeing the demos (and the price) not so much now.

My problem is not the sounds per ser but the fact that for that price I can get something with better sounds and with an XLR out. Hell, I think one of those Zoom pedals provides better value for money.

I spotted these the other day.

Are you liking it a lot then?

I tried the Tech21 Bass FlyRig 2 and it left me a bit cold, considering the price tag and the fact I love my BDDI it was weird.

    What are the amp Sims?

They are fine and with the IR's you get a lot of different tone variations.

    • Alembic F-2B
    • Fender MusicMaster Bass
    • Marshall Super Bass MkII
    • Ampeg SVT 76
    • Vox AC-100
    • Mesa Boogie Bass 400
    • Ampeg B-15 Flip Top
    • Ampeg V-4B
    • Fender Bassman 100

  5. I just saw a couple of videos and to be honest I rather prefer my Mvave Tank-B, for around £72 (From Temu) you get:

    - 36 presets

    - 9 Amp sims

    - 8 IR slots (You can add your own)

    - Bluetooth playback

    - Tuner

    - USB connection (Recording Interface, Firmware)

    - Direct recording connection (Phone or Pad)

    - Presets can be edited using a phone or computer app (Android, IOS)

    - Effects pretty much work like those on the Line 6 (Chorus, Reverb, Delay, Phaser, Octave)

    - Compressor (A compressor that works unlike the Tech21, Dapper & Boom Ave, which all suck)

    - Gate

    - 12 hour rechargeable battery

    - XLR Output

    - Amp Output

    - Headphone Output

And plays nicely with external effects.

Behringer and Focusrite Scarlett will all work very well out of the box. I got both and never had an issue.

  9. Guys the complete collection of IK Multimedia MixBox is on sale for $30 (yes Dollars). That's 85% off!!

Get this, it is a bloody bargain; especially for those who use a digital PA for their bands. You can route MixBox standalone using an iPad through your digital PA system and create presets for all your vocals, drums, and instruments. If you don't use digital PA then just use it for your mixing.

  10. Following up on this, just played a fair (Party in the park kind of thing) and I used my M-Vave pedal straight to a DI and to the Mixer. It sounded huge with the IR's. I used a personal IR and the sound guy couldn't believe how good that little toy sounded.

Got a friend who has the guitar version and now that's all he uses for small solo gigs. He uses a mixer, a Beat Buddy and a looping pedal.

Everything fits in his gig bag and he couldn't be happier.

Free, but for the Hornet, it means inscribing, then installing yet another Downloader programme, which sends the download to the wrong place (as usual...). No big deal, but with so many otfits doing the same stuff, it becomes tiresome for a 'one-off'. Melda don't do this, it's a straightforward download, once inscribed (I already am, soooooo...). Just sayin'. B|

Hmm... Melda seem to have joined the club, too, with an Installer. A bit fiddly, but I got it to work, after a fashion. Very clunky, though. :|

You don't need to install the installer for Hornet, just go to your account section and there you'll find every individual plugin you acquired. You can download the installer for each plugin there.
