This +100. This is what my bass tutor always advises. Start off slowly, get your muscle memory locked into it then increase the BPM. He recommends 2 BPM at a time but you could try 5 BPM. Only up the tempo once you've mastered the previous one.

This works for me as well, I will keep increasing the tempo until I can play it slightly faster than needed - which makes it seem easier at the required tempo.

    Just superb.

It takes a lot of courage to perform such an iconic song in front of the masters themselves and to see all three of them touched in such a way speaks volumes. A job well done by all involved.

    Thanks for posting.

+1, thought it was great and took real guts to do it.

  3. The band I am in (Crimson Clocks) don't have a guitarist. We did to begin with, and there is one on our recordings. Having said that we have now done more gigs without than with and are about to record another CD that won't feature guitar at all.

Audiences either seem to either dismiss us straight away for lack of guitar or really enjoy what we do - seems to depend on if we are playing in a rock venue or elsewhere :)

  4. 1) My sister was a bass player when I began to learn guitar - I kept hearing her and thinking how much better the bass sounded than the guitar

    2) When I was a kid my dad always used to turn the bass up as high as possible on his stereo and I loved hearing the bass lines like that

    3) My sister gave up the bass a few years after I got my guitar and I got the chance to buy all of her equipment for next to nothing (still have it all and use it occasionally) :)

I should have followed my heart and done Music A level rather than do subjects that I thought would allow me a career.

+1, and I should have taken my bass teachers advice and joined a band much sooner than I did.
