That is an absolutely wonderful bass Sir. It's my YOB too (March 1961),  plus Im a huge James Jamerson fan. What I'd give to own this! but unfortunately it's way out of my current means. I do own a 1969 though. The best of luck with your sale.

Fantastic! Even though I have a 1969 Precision I'd love to own this. Anyone wanna buy a Rickenbacker and a Musicman Sabre? or a few old body parts perhaps? Ha ha

I have to say, that is a fabulous looking bass. 

It's perhaps a good job I don't play a fretless otherwise I'd be all over this.

Burke's P bass... lovely warm tone, cleanish light driven sound and smooth playing.

I formed and used to play in a Budgie tribute band called In For The Kill which ran for 5 years. 

Budgie were my favourite band since I was still at school. Burke was a big influence so it was a no brainer for me. Funnily enough I played 6 string guitar first and Tony Bourge is the reason I'm playing at all !

Unfortunately my old 1969 Precision is a more recent purchase so it was way too late for the tribute.

I'm now learning this song. Probably the underrated bass player ever.

Fabulous stuff. I've only seen Jim Mullen play once, it was a Sunday afternoon gig playing with his Jazz outfit at The Lion, Basford, Nottingham. It was quite a while ago though. 

I learned this song earlier this week. There's more going on than you might think.
