Hi,

In nice nick but surplus to requirements are:

An Ampeg B5R head with footpedal. Works great, clean and dirty channels. Sounds wonderful. No issues at all. I've owned for 2 years and bought it from another bass player. It has been gigged (it's not a bedroom amp!). Reason for sale? Mostly playing double bass now and have other, more suitable rigs.

No name 1 x 15" cab. A bit scruffy, sounds great, functional, well gigged.

I'm hoping that these two items might be the foundation of a great set-up for somebody, maybe a new player.

I'm looking for £250 for the head and £100 for the cab. I'm prepared to courier the amp for £15 but I'm afraid that couriering the cab is not really cost effective. I'm based near Whitby in North Yorkshire. Folk are welcome to pop over and try the rig or I could deliver within Yorkshire or the North East for the price of the diesel.

I've attached a link to the Ampeg manual.

I bought this combo from the importers Overwater a year ago. It is a Clarus series III head which is dual channel and contains an effects unit and a Coda + 'cabriolet' cabinet. I also have the cover and carry strap and the original packaging. This unit was reconditioned by Overwater and was not new when I bought it. I think it is about 4 years old. There are a few tiny marks on it but everything works as it should. I have used it on about 20 gigs over the past year often with my double bass in Channel 1 and bass guitar in Channel 2. This combo is quite loud enough for a jazz venue for up to 200 people competing with a drummer and electric guitar plus 3 horns. Extension cabs are available from AI or you use the DI to the house PA. I have tried it with a 1 x 15 cab as well.

No pre-amp needed for DB, the usual piezo pick-ups work fine. Beautiful clear tone. Works well with bass guitar but if you want some dirt to your tone you might need a pedal.

The AI web site is here: http://www.acousticimg.com/#/home

Reason for sale / trade: GAS

Interested in trying something new. Interested in other amp/cab/combo suitable for DB and BG gigs. WHY?

I'm based in Whitby, North Yorks but can travel between Leeds and Newcastle and am planning a trip to South Wales and Leicestershire during the last week of March.

    NOW SOLD

  4. Hi,

This is my 2012 American Standard Precision up for sale. It is entirely standard apart from a Fender thumb rest installed at the top of the pick guard and straplocks. It is in immaculate condition, is unmarked and has not been gigged. It comes with the original hard case and all the case candy which is still sealed in the polythene bags.

The colour is slightly more creamy than picked up by the camera. It has the high mass bridge. Olympic white, tort pickguard and rosewood fretboard. Great sound, great neck.

These are about £1200 in the shops new so this is realistically priced. Reason for sale, I've got my eye on a PJ that will settle all my bass needs (well for some weeks!).

Sorry but no trades. For this price I will arrange insured courier to mainland UK address.

    Steve
