Bought some American Fender parts off Bass Chat user Rick's Fine '52 last week. They were exactly as described. Dispatched very quickly and he even went to the added expense of sending them via 'Next Day'.

Yeah i checked that already. It doesn't say the particular brand they are though unfortunately.
If possible, I would like to get the 'real deal' MiA Fender parts, as i've saved for an age to get the bass in question. And would like to fit the parts that were specifically intended for it. Tad silly i know , but there we are.

Hi there guys.

I'm after some advice. I am in need of 4 x matching Fender Jazz bridge saddles, complete with the 4 screws and 4 Springs for a MiA '75 Re-issue.
I've put an ad in the wanted section of this forum but appear to be talking to myself in that section of the forum.

Not sure if there's a particular website that might sell these? Or that hopefully someone who has some spare might notice my need for them in this section of the forum.

I don't need the bridge plate as such. Just the saddles and components of which Fender don't sell separately. And i've been quoted £42 for a brand new Fender bridge complete with components.
So just putting the feelers out to see if anybody here has a set that they don't need and are willing to sell.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The first two would need the scratchplate changed if you were set on tort but I'm sure that you wouldn't justify spending the extra money on the last purely because of the scratchplate anyway though it does have the maple board too. Still a massive difference in price though so neither are likely to be deciding factors.[/quote]

Thanks mate, though after playing my bosses MIA Fender Jazz, i've got my heart set on one. Been playing a Squire Precision for 10 years now. Time for a change.

Though i've been playing a Squire for over 10 years now. I'm at that stage now where the lust for a Fender has become too much.

I've noticed the Marcus Miller basses yeah. Though truth being told though, i think i prefer the natural version of his bass.


But for a Sunburst, block inlay, maple/rosewood bass, are there any other versions. As the Vintage posted above is Natural finish, and the red Deluxe above, although i've seen them in the Sunburst combination i'd want, i think would be out of my price range though.

Any other thoughts guys?

Hi guys.

I'm very new to the world of Bass Chat but have enjoyed browsing the threads here the past few days.


I was hoping that some of you maybe able to answer a question for me:

Basically, i'm after a new bass; i have a few in mind. One being a Fender Jazz.

Now, my ideal Fender Jazz would come in the combination of Sunburst finish, tortoise shell plate, block inlays (white or black) with preferably a maple neck... however, a Rosewood neck would suffice (also with block inlays).

I was just wondering if any of you Basschatters are aware of a specific name for this combination?

ie: 70s reissue etc?

Just so it would make searching for my desired bass online etc a bit easier.
I'm aware of the Geddy Lee signature bass, (Sunburst, maple neck, block inlay)... all that would need changing is the plate.

However, are there any other MIM or MIA versions with specific names 'out there'?

Would be appreciative of any info to help in my quest!
