1.
My replacement new 750 just arrived!
Replacement? What was wrong with the first one.
2. Guys, I have asked a similar question in the Effects section and thanks to everyone that has replied. I wonder how many here use a guitar amp with a bass speaker.....Why bother..well my bass amp is crap....an old Ashdown 65W combo....... Being one of THOSE types that also plays guitar, I have a rather lovely Cornell Romany Valve Guitar amp that makes a realy lovely tone. Just for fun I connected an Ashdown 15 cab and I have to say, I'm quite impressed. The amp seems to be able to handle it very well. It will only ever be used for bedroom practice so vols will be quite low....no gigs or anything like that. So............am I likely to damage the amp or should I be OK. TIA for al replies EDIT...I have answerd part of my question in the post below but would still be interested in anyone who uses this configuration.
3.
I ordered a P5110 from them which was noisier than I was prepared to live with. They replaced it no questions asked. The second one also wasn't quite right, so again they replaced it. The third one wasn't any better that the first two so I gave up and asked for a refund which they were quite happy to do.
The fact that you had 3 that were, for want of a better word...duff.....makes me wonder if I want one now...
4. Each as they find. Its great that some had good experiences, its just that mine wasnt...
5.
FWIW - I mailed Thomann to ask if they had it in stock, prior to ordering. They didn't, but told me when it was due in. They were spot-on, and it was with me a couple of days later.
Did their website show that they HAD stock????
6. Had a reply and they say they dont have stock....have a look on their Ebay site though and they say they do.... For those that have mentioned Thomann......I have used Thomann before...not a pleasant experience. I bought a (nearly £900) dac off them, advertised in stock, but that wasnt the case, after the wait, when it eventually arrived it was obviously a used or returned item, the packaging was an obvious clue and one of the inputs (toslink) was busted. The return process was painless enough but that was the only part of the transaction they got right. I swore there and then I wouldnt use them again. Dont get me wrong here...I aint trying to have a dig or anything, I'm just left totally confused about the way people conduct their business.......I'm prepared to pay the price for a NEW item that hasnt seen the light of day since it left the manufacturers. I think I'll pass until I can lay my sticky mitts on something suitable. Many thanks for all replies and for the advice...its given me plenty to think about.
7. Just emailed them...awaiting their reply.
8.
The site offering them at £515 says out of stock though, yet they're selling them on eBay for more. Hmmmm.....
I got caught by that one.....they say they wont have any till August 2010... Their previous page says they have stock
9. Just checked and it was 548 @Thomann Would anyone like to comment on EffectPowerSupplies, how would they rate them as a dealer....before I drop my wedge......

But look on their Ebay site and the same seller ..but note the price. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/IBANEZ-PROMETHEAN-P5...R-/220534998903 Is someone is taking the pi$$?????
11. Thanks guys...I'll give it a go and see what happens.
12. Thanks for the replies so far guys. The PJ and MB were seleced for my list because they are regared as quality kit AND that they would be easy to carry and be quite unobtrusive in the house. That is an important point for me or should I say...SWMBO. Dont know if any others fit the bill........
13.
What are you going to be using the combo for? Gigs? Rehearsals? Do you have PA support?
Home use only buddy... I play with myself...and great fun it is too....
14. I'm looking for advice on a suitable combo for use with my warwick corvette active. I have a crappy old ashdown at the mo but have now managed to save up enough for something decent. Its for home use only and I was thinking of maybe a Minimark or PJ Briefcase. Any comments or other sugestions. TIA for all replies.
15. Guys. Just a quick question that I'm sure I'll get an answer to. Is it OK to use guitar effects with a bass. I have a small selection of effects but dont want to damage them or anything. I dont see how I could but just checking before I use them. TIA for all replies.
16. G'day guys. My name is Ray and I'm a crap bass player.....that dont matter though cos I love it. Dont have much gear, a Warwick Corvette active and a crappy Ashdown practice amp. Looking for a new amp at the mo, Minimark or PJB Briefcase is on the list. Dont gig or play in any kind of band, I aint that good... Looking forward to participating and learning something new...
