1. Fiancé (queenofthedepths) and I are having a clearout, decided that someone here is more likely to want it than at the charity shop! PM if interested, don't worry about postage, will only be a first class stamp.
2. I was having problems with playing my fiancé's basses (small hands ) and so bought a Daisy Rock. It plays really nicely and it's definitely small enough for me to play. I have a heartbreaker (heart shaped one) which is a bit of a pain to play sat down so I would suggest getting one of the more traditional shaped ones for her... however I would reccomend them!
3.
My Daughter has a Daisyrock heartbreaker - Its a great bass I love the sound & feel of it - the duncan designed pickup is so punchy, but the neck dive was a problem. I had previously fixed the neck dive on my thunderbird by relocating the strap button to behind the neck heel as in the link in the post above. i found this wasn't appropriate for the heartbreaker, but after a bit of trial & error I fixed it by putting an additional strap button below the neck in a positition symetrical to the original one (as if fitting for a left handed version). This may sound like it would look a bit odd, but looks OK bhen stapped on and works like a charm - it balances perfectly and is very comfy to play. If you like I can posts some pics.
Could you post some pics? I kind of get what you mean but I don't want to be screwing things into my bass without being 100% certain!
A good quality, thick leather strap with a suede underside always makes a big difference. It grips to my naked sweaty flesh quite nicely. ....and Sophie, I here you enjoyed "Killers"????
Yep... Brilliant film Rog' seems to think there's some deep underlying message, but I'm not at all convinced
4. The strap button is pretty much where those have been moved to If it helps here is the bass http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/DAISY-ROCK-HEARTBREA...1QQcmdZViewItem I think it's the shape of the body more than anything (I will attempt fiddling with the strap buttons though! - thanks)
5. Following on from this post http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...2&st=0& I got my bass, promptly named it Dexter and had my first bass lesson with queenofthedepths Whilst I've been told it's an "alright" bass... it has really bad neck dive... My brother has suggested using an acoustic strap on it, but does anyone have any other ideas? Thanks in advance, Sophie
6. Sorry guys I completely missed new posts on this thread Hopeless! I do apologise I got a £100 heartbreaker bass off ebay (free postage!) arrived today and it's lovely! However it does have "the worst neck dive" dearest fiance has ever seen... but that's a post for elsewhere...!
7. I did see that one... but I like the butterfly one more... I don't know whether to go for that one or to wait and see if I could get a Monarch one from somewhere! Decisions decisions!
8. Thanks guys, I think I'll keep looking till I find someone in the UK I think... (if anyone finds one anywhere let me know ) I've just looked at those two sellers and niether of them have the bass I want, I'll bookmark them though and keep checking
9. I've been advised to post by my dear fiancé (queenofthedepths) to ask for some advice! Basically I've decided I really want to learn to play bass... really badly... I want to buy my own bass as I find it difficult to play Rog's with my little hands I have my heart set on a Daisy Rock (advice welcome about these aswell) and have found no UK sellers (I'd like to buy off Ebay as I'm a poor student) with the one I have my heart set on, however a US seller has one for sale, pretty cheaply... the problem is his feedback looks dodgy, a few people giving him feedback by name, lots of buyers with only 1 feedback, I don't know it just seems a bit odd? Am I right to stay away?
