as somone who has just picked up a SR705, 1 year old for 300quid I would say go for it,
Restrung with a set of DR Black Beauty's (6 string set for 27quid off american ebay) and it looks the awsome (and then some) and well within your budget! you could even upgrade the preamp / pickups and still come in under!

tried that, it was only 1 pickup not workign and its still dodgy might have to take it to a tech!

Afternoon!
just a quick one before I pay a guitar tech to have a look at it!
brought a Ibanez SR705 (active) and today the bridge pickup stopped sending any normal level of signal! (barto MK1's)
i get a low level signal with a high amount of noise and if anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated!
