You can get 'orchestral' tuning version for the Vanhal Concerto's but thats only important if you want to play it with piano and or orchestra. Scherzo & Tarentella (all separate) Diterssdorf: Concerto in Eb Mengoli: 20 Studies Vanhal: Concerto in Eb As you know, Bottesini wrote lots of music for Bass and are worth a look too. It is a FULL size instrument with 5 strings Low B. The belly is Spruce and the ribs are Maple. Length of Stop (nut to bridge) 109 cm. It is very responsive and suitable for Orchestral or Jazz use. It has a new set of Pirastro Evah Pirrazi strings, comes with a Black soft cover with 'ruck sack' style straps and if you need it a French style bow and a stick for Nyman rosin. This is a fantastic sounding instrument with a full rounded tone and you will not be disappointed with it. I got it from Gedo in Germany and I am totally honest in saying this is a great instrument. This is a reluctant sale but I am moving overseas so it has to go. The reserve is [b]now £1,500[/b] and having used it for some time, I can say that this instrument compares very well with more expensive instruments that I have owned in the past. Hi Everyone, I have just got back into playing Double Bass after a gap of about 10 years. My new 5 String Bass arrived yesterday from Gedo Musik and I have to say I am very impressed with it, it's set up with a set of Evah Pirazzi, a decent french Bow, a stick of Nymans rosin and a decent Gig Bag. I had seen a few favorable comments about Gedo on here and I can only say they are a bargain. Any hoo, hello fellow bassists and look forward to some good topics on here in the future.
