It's got a nice bassline too! Must find out who played on that track. Not heard the rest of that album but I expect it's in a similar vein. Might try and hunt it down.

Jack, you have just hit the spot with that one.. i love that big time..!! what a beautiful woman she is too.

It's a cracker isn't it? I love the original moreso, it's got a strange, eerie romantic atmosphere to it (for me!) that just gets me every time.

Here it is, if you're interested! Not quite so groovy, more 'lilty':

    Yep, seriously under-rated guitarist.

Absolutely- and seriously underused on Ragged Tiger. Some nice chops on there, but that album for me is all about Nick Rhodes getting overexcited by his new toys.

Now THAT is a great groove :)

+1, great tone on that vid.

Here's Queen Latifah's wonderful cover of my favourite Dr. Buzzard's Original Savannah Band track, 'Hard Times' (one of my all-time favourite songs). It qualifies for this thread as it's a bit more groove-driven for this thread (though I might give in and post the original at some point!):

...maybe some Power Station and Arcadia too!
That rules me out for the Andy role- I can't solo to save my life, especially not the stuff Andy pulls on the Power Station stuff!

Cool, would you be willing to deliver? I'm looking for a decent watts, lightweight rig (I'm 23 and my back certainly feels the effect of lugging heavy gear around without a car!) and this head is exactly the right sort of price for my low budget.

Just been offered a stunning deal on some gear my synth-playing mate is moving on, so I may have to waive my interest in this for now. If you could get some pics up and shipping info then it'll help with the sale! I still yet might be interested depending on this other gear so I'm staying in tune with this thread.

  8. I picked up a mid-90's USA made Peavey Combo 210TX last year for £100 off ebay. It's battered, scuffed and bruised and has a couple of dead spiders in front of the cones behind the grill but it is plenty loud and sounds great. It's 210 watts but goes up to 300 with a cab. The only issue I have with it is that it is ridiculously heavy, like most Peavey gear. If you could source one of those (and I'm half-considering selling mine- drop me a PM if you fancy) for a decent low price that might serve your needs nicely!

  9. I'm putting my little Ashdown After Eight up for sale, as I bought it originally from the now-defunct Dolphin Music in Liverpool for an acoustic pop/soul covers duo (acoustic guitar w/ electric bass) that has yet to materialise. It's been sat in my room and the only use it's had is low-volume bedroom practice. As a result, it's in AS NEW condition with no discernable scuffs or scrapes. It pushes out 15w from an 8-inch cone: here's the spec from Ashdown.

I think these's go for about £80-90 new (I paid £89 for it about 6 months ago) so I'm setting a price that reflects it's condition: £60 collected from Southport in Merseyside, though I'm sure delivery can be arranged (I purchased the amp without any box as it was direct from the shop, and they didn't have the box for it- I did ask!).

    Thanks for looking!

[PICS TO COME AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!]
