Hi, I`m looking for an accomplished and versatile bass guitarist.
I`ve been UK clinician for Taylor guitars for the last few years but they`ve now decided to move their European distribution to Fender ....so I`m now about to undertake a masssive new ongoing promotion with Larrivee guitars which will include alot of clinics / demo`s / gigs etc throughout the UK and Ireland.
It`s essentially "show off " acoustic guitar playing with some tech talk thrown in for good measure. I`ve always done them with another guitarist but after 7 years I`m pretty bored with it and fancy doing them with a good bass player instead, it`s not out-and-out Jazz, there is some bluegrass, folk, blues, swing... alsorts of stuff ...but alot of it is quite fast with some fairly intricate arrangements.
What I`m looking for really is a "chemistry", I know lots of gnarly old jazzers who can play (and read) fly sh*t and who`ve "been there and done it all"...but I`m not calling any of them, when I tour I like to have fun and can`t be doing with "old moaners"... my living is playing the guitar but my hobby is laughing.... and I like to do alot of it.
(Please note, A Larrivee 4 string acoustic bass will be supplied on loan which HAS to be used for the gigs.)
If anyone is interested let me know and we`ll hook up and see if we gel musically. Thanks, Pete Smith
