I assume if being shipped directly to the new owner that they would also be liable for the duties/taxes on the import?

Yes, correct, and as such, reflected in a much lower price than it would cost to buy one directly and ship and import it to the UK/Europe. I might be able to deliver it myself within the UK in a couple of months if someone is happy to buy it and wait.

$k are going because people are flippers, there is topic about that on talkbass, had a Moollon, great bass.

It's supply and demand, basic economics, determining current prices. How much will it cost you to have one in 3 years is irrelevant if you want one today. It's not too different from buying a vintage Fender (how do you determine "value") and I presume it's going to be the same for Stenback basses - most people will be unable to get accepted on the current 4-5 year waiting list.

Think it's a very fair price compared to the ones on offer in the US. Less than what it would take to ship and import one into Europe in 3 years time. I did have a Jazz 5 from them which was very nice, although I do think their P basses are their top product.

  3. Offering my Moollon P-Classic bass as thinning out my P bass collection (I mainly play jazz basses).

These are usually going for over $4k in the US and have a 3-4 year waiting list for new orders.

Considered by many to be the best substitutes for pre-CBS basses (together with Olinto) at a fraction of the price; used by players such as Tim Lefebvre, Michael League, Scott Divine, Richard Bona, and Jonathan Maron. Everything is hand made and in-house including the pickups, nitro finishing, hardware using the same 1960s alloy, etc.

    3.8kg / 8.3lbs

    Full specs here http://www.moollon.com/front/product/product_list.php?code=003

Have had it since new. It's in very good condition and has not been played much. The ultra thin nitro finish is starting to check/crack in some places as expected, no scratches - same as in vintage nitro painted Fenders. I'm looking for a straight sale only / no trades.

I have two 65/66 jazzes. One has a July 65 neck fitted with padouk fretboard:

it's a bit more orange and swirly than rosewood. Apparently Fender did this a few months in '65 as kind of an experiment.

Hear you, but I’m pretty confident that it’s Brazilian rosewood. I just took some pictures of the fingerboard in good light. Your Paduk fingerboard is lighter coloured than mine with a different pattern. I'm attaching some Brazilian rosewood reference - of course it varies and there are different types and hues. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dalbergia_nigra#/media/File:Rio-Palisander,_dunkel_Holz.JPG

  5. This is my L series 1965 Fender P bass

    • This bass is simple the best P of its age I have ever come across. Not only is is a really good one in terms of aesthetics but its got an incredible action and its super light and resonant.
    • 3.5 Kg / 7.8 Lbs
    • Everything is original down to the last screw and it's all complete including hard case. The sunburst is bright, the frets are original and in great condition having been on flats its whole life.
    • The fretboard is something else. Gorgeous figured rosewood and there is a bit of flame in the neck.
    • This bass, given its quality could sell for  bit more but think I'm being realistic.
    • It has one chip in the lower horn at the back and flaking of the chrome on one knob. Other than that a few minor dinks and rubs but nothing through the paint. There's a bit of checking on the back of the headstock.

    Plenty of feedback https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/185975-feedback-for-arnoldoc/?tab=comments#comment-1793647

  6. Selling my USA (not Satin) made Sadowsky. Early 2000s model in very good condition with with some wear and a few small marks in the finish and headstock (pictured) which is reflected in the price. The bass plays beautifully and can be setup with very low action if desired. Lots of fret life left.

    *Ash body

    *Rosewood fingerboard

    *Single Coil pickups

*Sadowsky 2 band preamp with VTC - Volume, Pan, Vintage tone control, Stacked Treble/Bass

    *3.9kg/8.6lb

    *Comes in a Sadowsky case.

Bass originally built without a pick guard but I have a tortoiseshell one as in the picture. I didn't want to make the screw holes yet for flexibility. Comes with an additional Sadowsky bridge too.

Get an NYC Sadowsky for the price of a new Metro.

Not looking for trades. Only exception a Stenback 5 + cash your way or a Fender Pino. Feedback thread below.

  7. Fbass BN5 for sale.

    *Ash body

    *Maple neck

    *Roasted maple fingerboard (upgrade)

    *34.5" scale

    *4.5kg / 9.9lb

*Passive/active 3 band preamp (very transparent preamp).

    *Single-coil/humbucker switch

    *Handmade in Canada

Very good condition. Couple of very light scratches on the fingerboard I tried to photograph. Plays like a dream, very low action without buzzing if desired.

Comes with a "softshell" hard case.

Looking for a straight sale.  I'm not in a particular rush to sell, just trimming a collection that has grown too much. Only trades to consider: Fbass fretless or Fender Pino Palladino CS.
