1. Thanks Linus27, fingers crossed, we're called Detroit'74 - so keep your eyes peeled ha ha.
2. We found someone and we're just working on the set. Two years of searching finally paid off! Just wanted to let you know that it's worth sticking at it folks.
3. ...and the search goes ever on. (is that grammatically correct?)
4.
hmmm sounds interesting.
[email protected] if it's that interesting. We're just at the other end of the Hogs Back
5. We are still looking folks. Remember it's a start up band, not pro. I'm gonna be careful what I say because Skinny Machines really took a beating.... ;-))
6. Yes we are - [email protected] We're rehearsing tomorrow (wednesday 8th Dec) evening if you're local?
7. We are still looking by the way - despite all of our illustrious pals.....:-((
8. Thanks Linus27 - astonishingly I am at the Westie today as a volunteer and recounted that very same story to Jules (who sends all her best) about an hour ago! Thanks for the nod as well. Really appreciate your help, once again. Hope it's all going well with your venture. Karena has now arrived and sends you all her best as well! --------------------------- So JUST TO MAKE IT CLEAR - this is a start up band, amateur, we are very committed but this would not be for an experienced professional (unless you want to help - in which case Hooray!)
9. Hello We are drums (21) guitar/vocs (47) and it's a rock band. So we're talking Overdriven valves rather than Distortion. We're putting together 30mins of covers designed to make people bounce around and then we'll be adding in originals. Covers so far are Stooges/Nirvana/Sonic Rendezvous Band/Stones/Oasis. Originals are Songs that sound nothing like the above! Sort of Laurel Canyon '71 with a dash of Detroit (white and black) '72 but English! You know how J Mascis and Kevin Shields always have strong tunes at the centre of the maelstrom? We're intentionally loose so there is space for the Bass (oh that rhymes). I've been told that we play loud (its real overdrive). Other than that it is over to you if you're interested. If you sing and/or write, or want to that would be an added bonus. Obviously this is amateur for now, but we've clicked so well that we intend taking this one as far as possible. We have an ultra-cheap practice space in Aldershot and play every week. Email is:- [email protected] P.S. If I've missed anything from a Bassists point of view can you let me know please?
