Hi all,
couldn't resist and got this one at a local shop in Reading for £160
It plays nice and doesn't sound too bad.
I'm curious to figure out what it actually is. There are no tags, names, serial numbers or anything on it. It looks aged so I'd say its probably 20+ years old.
The truss rod cover was a rather pathetic attempt to DIY a Rickenbacker plexi TRC and it's gone now.
Bridge will be replaced by a MIJ bridge that looks more like the original Rickenbacker bridges, knobs and pickguard are ordered.
The current PG is made of plywood with a thin white layer, rather fugly and also looks slightly DIY,
Pickups are my biggest headache as they are the least authentic looking bits left after my upgrades. Any suggestions?
I know that RIC purists loath attempts to make copies look more like the original but I admit, I do it for the looks and I don't care as long as I can't justify buying an original.
Thanks,
SH
ps: will provide more pics and take off PG soon.
