  1. I originally sent this bass by UPS on the 14th July 2022. It was supposed to be delivered next day within the UK.

It was "lost" by UPS. There is no trace of the instrument and it was stolen whilst in transit and within UPS's facility.

If anyone sees this bass, please let me know.

    Thanks

  2. ***** NOW SOLD PENDING PAYMENT *****

I purchased this from a fellow Bass Chat member just over 2 years ago. It's a 1998 model made from swamp ash with a rosewood board.

I recently had a newer G&L pre-amp fitted by KGB music in Birkenhead and Barry commented on how it stood out as a very resonant bass versus the other G&L's he's previously come across.

The B string sounds very focused due to the through-body stringing and 3 over 2 headstock. It has a great action and plays very easy up and down the neck. Considering its age, there's no high frets or buzzing.

It has a lot of flexibility due to the pre-amp and has the G&L growl from the combination of the pickups and preamp. It has  a big, heavy sound with a very powerul output.

There are signs of wear on the bass; the tuners are tarnished but work perfectly well. There's various smaller marks and scratches on the body and a small crack around the gloss finish near one of the pots (see photo below), but not the wood and the pot itself is not damaged (brand new as part of the pre-amp recently fitted). The nut looks yellowed, but no signs of damage. Weighs 9.8 lbs.

Recently put some new Ernie Ball Nickel's on (super long) and much prefer them to D'Addario. Great detail in the sound of the B string.

As mentioned previously; I've had a new G&L pre-amp fitted and also a newer bridge. Comes with a G&L case.

The reason I am selling is that I have a U.S. L2000 and other 4 strings and am less into 5 string basses these days due to the music I am now playing.

Asking price as above plus shipping. Located on Merseyside.

  3. Ed bought a Marcus Miller V7 from me over a week back. Great communication and swift transaction.

Lovely guy to deal with and genuinely passionate about basses.

Trustworthy guy and would deal/trade with anytime!

  4.

    NOW SOLD.

I bought this bass brand new very recently, but having played 5 strings for the last 20 years, I cannot settle back into playing a 4. The opportunity has arose to purchase another 5, so I am putting this up for sale. It's a great playing and modern sounding bass with a range of different tonal options from the pickups and pre-amp.

It has not left the house and has barely been played. No marks and is in as new, mint condition.

It comes with a brand new Spector hard case – once again as new.

    This is the manufacturers description:

Carved European alder body with a USA figured maple top and a slice of Walnut

    NECK

WOOD: 3pc Maple with Graphite Rods inside for additional strength

FINGERBOARD: Rosewood, with mother of pearl Crown Inlays

    NUMBER OF FRETS: 24

    SCALE LENGTH: 34"

    HARDWARE

BRIDGE: Spector zinc brass alloy locking bridge, with intonation screws

    Brass Nut

    PICKUPS AND ELECTRONICS

    PICKUPS:  EMG 35TW

ACTIVE TONE CONTROLS: Spector TonePump +18db boost only, bass and treble

CONTROLS : bridge pickup volume with push/pull function for single/dual coil selection, neck pickup volume with push/pull function for single/dual coil selection, treble boost and bass boost

I am happy to accept Paypal.  £1175.00 and £15 post and packing.

No trades thank you; just interested in a straight sale.

  5. Thanks for the comments Chaps. I decided recently on collection only. Am looking to withdraw this by the end of the week as it doesnt look like it will sell. Maybe the time of year, but thanks for the comments.

  6. Yes, it's a very comfortable bass. They are great basses and the neck has he graphite rods in which makes them very stable. Also absolutley no dead spots on the neck. Thanks for the comments.
