1. Hi folks, Does anyone recognise this amp (see image)? I can't find any information about it online... I'd like to sell it as I'm moving house. I'd particularly like to know what year it was manufactured. If anyone can throw some light on this I'd be most grateful. Many thanks!
2. Thanks for all the replies guys. You've all been really helpful! Have looked some of your suggestions up on t'internet and I'm thinking now what would be more suitable for my purposes is a small seperate set-up. Funny to see Ampeg gets hammered nearly everytime they are mentioned, though the P500 might be a goer with a suitable cab...
3.
I'd be tempted to go with a head & cab...
Thanks. Much like the suggestion from Winterfire666... any suggestions?
4. Thanks Winterfire666, just had a look at both. Seems Barefaced are relatively new? Or I'm relatively old? Not sure! Ampeg pf500 looks like a possibility too. This presents an interesting alternative to the combo... Great help!
5. Hello bass folks, Can anyone recommend a good combo amp? I've been looking at the Ampeg BA600 (210), SWR super Redhead 2x10 350W and Messa Boogie Walkabout... What I need is something powerful enough for small clubs/venues, to cover gigs from a power-trio rock outfit to a 9-piece soul band. On paper the Ampeg looks like a winner but reviews are a little iffy - generally saying it doesn't give the power and volume that you'd expect from a 600W amp. I've always had Ampeg gear so naturally that was my first port of call. As an alternative I quite like the SWR sound and wander if it is realized in their combo amp? Is the sound going to be big and rounded enough for my needs? Indeed is there a combo amp out there that will suffice or am I hoping for too much? Budget is flexible to some extent but I don't expect to be paying much less than a grand (or more?). I'd very much appreciate any guidance. All replies eagerly awaited. Cheers!
6. I am selling my Ampeg 8x8 cab. It has some cosmetic damage (mainly on the back - tolex peeling off, exposing the casing on the corners) but is in perfect working order. Still sounds massive! I bought it new in the late 90s. The cab is rather rare and not manufactured by Ampeg any longer. Spec for cab - Dimensions roughly the size of a 6x10 Weight 105lbs Power 1200 Watts Max Speakers 8 X 8 inch speakers with horn Ohms 4 ohms Other Covered in Ampeg SVT style tolex, lots of ports REASONABLE OFFERS CONSIDERED Local pick-up in Kent/Sussex. Please email me if you are interested, I am happy to answer any questions.
7. indeed Thornybank! fancy a purchase ? or are you already the lucky, lucky owner of one of these beauties?
8. AMPEG 808HE CABINET AMPEG SVT III PRO HEAD HEAD SOLD!!!!!!!!!!! see other post for cab details - http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=107961
9. Hello bass people, I am reluctantly looking to sell my Ampeg set-up - comprising 8x8 SVT Classic Cab & SVT 3 Pro head (90's). Everything is in perfect working order and it still sounds like the soft-hearted monster it has always been, though the cab needs a little make-up (I am considering recovering it for the purpose of re-sale). I have trawled the internet for an idea of what to sell it for but prices vary so much that I am none the wiser - does anyone have any insightful (and sensible) suggestions? Any posts appreciated!
