1. Well I gigged the BB-1X last night, and used it as a pre amp into my Orange Terror Bass 500w Combo. The overdrive was a really pleasant surprise, has a lovely natural valve tone - just what I wanted. Our drummer uses top end Roland V-Drums (let's not get into that one!) and as such we tend to keep our stage volume pretty low with everything going through a brand new Yamaha PA. I cannot always get my amp at such a volume it drives naturally. Having previously owned the ODB-3, the BB-1X is a million miles away in terms of sound. The drive knob can be turned past 12 o'clock before it sounds more like a fuzz, so plenty of room to get a nice valve overdrive tone which is to your liking. Need to experiment on settings to shape the DI signal, only low and high knobs, with a blend mix, and not sure how best to work that with the EQ settings on the mixing desk. Any tips appreciated...?? Want to get the same sound out of front of house if possible. The DI on the amp itself was not cutting it for me.
2. Why would you want to gig without a decent amp / cab set up? Beats me... I have the Orange Terror Bass Combo 500W - picked a 12 month old one up recently on eBay for £450 - Bargain! I've used Ampeg last 10 years (SVT CL, later downsized to SVT 7 Pro) and this Orange is a lovely toned amp. You won't get that sound from DI to Monitors on a stage, so in my mind it is a waste of money. Also with recent tech you don't need to use your amp for home recording. I use the Apogee Jam 96k plugged into my Mac, Garage Band and Logic Pro X have a huge selection of plug-ins to emulate any kind of decent amp set up. If you don't have a Mac then I'm sure there are plenty of similar options for your Focusrite 2i2 into PC.
3. Have just purchased the Boss BB-1X Bass Driver Stompbox - yet to gig it but hoping to hear improved front of house sound. Will let you know how it goes...

5. Will be using a balanced TRS jack to XLR lead, no adaptor needed. (sorry if that's what you meant!)
6. Anyone got any experience of using the above new pedal from Boss? Just bought myself one to use mainly as pre-shaped DI to front of house, plus I like a little overdrive. Planning to use in place of my GT-6B which I have put up for sale in the other board. Interested to hear if anyone has first hand experience of this little box? Will be gigging it next weekend for the first time. http://www.bossus.com/products/bb-1x/
7. Hi all. First post for me here. I'm looking to sell my GT-6B, used but very good condition. Only used in studio before i purchased it late last year, lightly gigged since then. Just looking to downsize as I do not need most of the effects on this unit anymore due to the kind of stuff I'm playing. Just purchased Boss TU-3 and BB-1X which suits me perfectly now. Very reliable unit, but you all know that! Original working power adaptor included, also comes with box and packaging (box is from a GT-8 but fits perfectly. ) Postage will be around £16.40 via Parcel Force 48, according to Royal Mail. I live in Norwich if a local pick up is your thing...
