I was curious about your Fodera - could you tell about it a bit more - is it some sort of 'signature' model, how it's strung (E-C?), and stuff..?

    I'm tempted in buying one..
3. Hi guys,

  4. Cheers mate.

    - really appreciate peoples' positive response so far. It's been fun for me learning and transcribing (then trying to do justice to the parts) as it hopefully is for my own pupils and others here who've been checking out the vids. Will keep them coming.

    best
Keep on with the 'style files' Mr C, especially where Jamiroquai's concerned!

Trying to get back in the habit of learning some new lines and this is just the job. Bass in the place! :)

  5. Hi guys,

    Here's another style file.

    http://www.johnnycopland.com/?p=275

It's a great 16th note funk groove from Incognito's track 'talkin loud' from the 1994 album 'positivity'. On bass, one of the UK's heaviest groovers, randy hope taylor.

part 2 coming next week :)

ps - anyone know if it's possible to merge all my threads into one place?

    cheers,

    J

  6. Hi guys,

Another private student requested this line from Marvin Gaye's 1971 "what's happening brother"... - it's not in the excellent 'standing in the shadows of motown' book.

    http://www.johnnycopland.com/?p=255

I've just done my favourite 16 bar section. Have fun!

    cheers,

    Johnny :)

  7. Hey guys,

Here's my latest style file, requested by quite a few people that tuned in to the previous ones. Paul Turner's funky bass playing on the Jamiroquai track "Starchild" from 2005's "Dynamite".

TAB & score on the site. Hope you enjoy:

and drop me a reply if you've any more requests. :)

    Johnny

  8. Hi guys,

Here's the second installment in my mini style file series I'm doing - Bakithi Khumalo with Paul Simon. It's a bit of a boot strap affair - did this on the road away from my studio (bass in left channel only etc... ), but hope you enjoy. Also, can anyone let me know if they have trouble viewing this video - there might be a issue with WMG over the audio copyright on YouTube.

Again, any requests let me know.
