Hi Rick
Thanks for sharing the picture of the neck date.
The basses are for sure from the very first week of building Fender jazz basses in Japan.
And could be the very first jazz bases from out there :-)
Regards Brian -
Little under eight and a half pound.....
As far as I can convert the 3,8 kg -
3,8 kg
And well ballanced ! -
I will put it on the scale and find precise weight tomorrow
It is a light one !

I bought the bass in Japan ten year ago.
That fits the conclusion about beeing a domestic !
Regards Brian -
I also expected CTS pots!
Tuner are the vintage reverse with low gearing, only found on top level instruments from that time.
(Actually more correct than on USA reissues from the same period :-)
Regarding the pots it could be because is it from the very first week, it is equiped with an other type.
They are untouched solderings for sure,
Regards Brian -
Thanks for the link gareth
I agree that is a prof way to document a bass!
Regards Brian -
I think you are right, gareth!
I have some more pictures and can mail them to serious interested buyers.
Also can take Pick ups out, and take photos if it is nessasary.
Regards Brian -
